sound driver problems

Hi i've got a problem i can't update my sound driver i've got Cmedia 9761A sound card on board i'm running Vindows Vista Ultimate SP1 .Have any suggestion i'm ready to readand listen.Thx a lot

who made the card itself? cmedia or another company using a cmedia chip?

Any clue which one? you might have to pull the card out to see, but mine don't say on it, so that's not a guarentee.

EDIT: oh, it's onboard! hmm... one sec.

Looks like you'll have to have Vista fetch the driver via windows update if it's not already installed -Asrock only offers a driver for windows XP and lower, and cmedia does not offer one for it either.

Start > right click on 'Computer' then in the pane of system properties click device manager - once that pops up, scroll down to 'sound, video and game controllers' expand it and right click on each and choose 'update software' and let it check windows update - if there are any unkown devices, do this for them as well.

all the same vista drivers on the cmedia site try one of them http://www.cmedia.com.tw/drivers.html should be 8.17.33 or at the bottom 8.17.47
