The Corsair H100i PRO is a spectacular cooling system.

I didn't want to stress the system initially, but after much thoughts, I decided to go for it.

So yesterday, I went to AI Suite 3 and hit the overclock. By the way, the software overclock is quite different from the BIOS overclock. It adjusts everything even the fans, very interesting.

It actually went through each steps and displayed it. It first went to x47, then I thought "Oh No! Not that small??!!" Then it refreshed and tried x48, "Hmm...that's about it!"

In the end, overclock lottery gives me only 4.9GHz, SMH! A bit disappointed, I thought it would go all the way up to 5GHz, anyway...no luck, SMH x2!!

Then I ran a game called Rise of Nations Extended Edition. The temperature at peak was 65oC at a particular instant. Not too bad, I was worrying it might go as high up as 80oC. But that's when the GREAT things happened. Though I was on my earbud, but I could hear some hair-dryer sound in my closed room, 25oC room temperature. I removed them and next to me sounds something like a vacuum cleaner. Then I checked the speed, it was over 2,400 rpm, so 2 fans added up to 4,800 rpm. I set the rear stock fan of the Cooler Master masterBox MB511 to 1,000 rpm. I don't know the 3 front fans cause they are controlled by molex and is mono-speed.

It's not noisy, but it's audible. The feeling is spectacular.

I guess this is the most stressed situation.
But to revert the overclock is not very convenient, you need to go to BIOS to reset it.

It's a quite efficient cooling system.

If you really want to test the limits of that cooler, try something really heavy, like our own @Regeneration Linpack Xtreme. Of course, it's also great for weeding out unstable overclocks quickly. My personal method is to try to pass 20 iterations. If it does, I move on to the 24 hour Prime95 test. I've had very long P95 tests fail after passing even 100 iterations of Linpack Xtreme, so that's why I do both.

Also note, auto overclocking is... bad. You can usually reach better results yourself: higher clocks, less voltage, maybe both.

Yeah auto clocking usually over volts, always better doing manual.
