SSD&HDD suggestion for only reliability

I want to get a ssd for os and hdd for storage.

As far as i know that controller is important for performance and long-term being unproblematic. For me, reliable and most important one is steady state performance that ssd is still perform like as fresh as possible even it is full of(%80) data.I heard that sandforce is a little bit problematic.(fix me If I'm wrong). That's why I only add intel my list which has sandforce because of I have some researched intel use their own firmware on sandforce chip and they did many test on it(fix me If I'm wrong). So that's why I don't add other brands which use sandforce such as kingston etc.

So my options are;

Intel 520/335 series
corsair neutron gtx
ocz vector
samsung 840 pro
(maybe sandisk because of marvell?)

Which one can you recommend for reliable and long term perform free-problem?

Secondly,
I want to get 2 or 3TB hdd for storage/rarely runs some programs so speed is not important (movies, games and some iso's)

my options are;
WD Black,Red,Green,AV-GP and Seagate desktop.hdd.15, 7200.14 barracuda and SV35 series.

I know that WD black 5 year warranty. But many people say that it is a little bit noisy and current wd black drives has also many RMA?I would buy wd red but someone say that it has tler feature and it is suitable for nas so using on desktop can create some problems?but even if greens and reds are more nondurable than black.I can buy black for storage, as we all know losing all data is a concern.

Thank you so much.

SSDs are all rather new, we don't really know how they are going to evolve over the course of many many years (a decade?), but the ones you listed are pretty good based on synthetic tests and theoretical life.

As for HDD, all of them are reliable. Some people will have better luck with a brand or another, which is completely expected.

Bottom line is you should always backup your data, no matter how reliable they are. All it takes is one power failure or another unfortunate event to wipe everything you have. Red are optimised for 24/7 hammering, but mechanically they are identical to Greens.

Samsung 840, Plextor are both decent SSD makes and a WD Blue HDD or Seagate Barracuda HDD

All Marvell based SSD's are very reliable. OCZ Vertex 4, Curcial M4/M500. Can't go wrong with hese if you prefer reliability over raw performance. In that case, SandForce might be the answer.

Why does no ever mention the Toshiba ssd's, I read the reviews of them on here and they were rated very good. I believe the 512gb on was one of the fastest tested.

WD Green & Samsung 840 Pro

I've been running two 2TB Greens since Dec 2010 with no problems, and large movie & ISO files transfer at up to 100 MB/s, so they're fine for storage. I've had a 500GB Blue running for 13 months without problems. The Blues are better (7200 RPM), but I can't seem to find them anymore in sizes over 500 GB. The Blacks are just Blues with a 5 year warranty and 50% higher price. I'd get the Greens (2TB for $99, 3TB for $129) and backup all crucial data.
The Samsung 840 Pro (128GB) is what I'm using now for my boot drive - very fast and very reliable (get the 256 for fastest write speeds). The Corsair Neutron GTX and the Sandisk Extreme II also look very good, but the Samsungs are well-proven and recommended by most enthusiasts, and I really like their SSD toolbox (Samsung Magician).
I'm using my old boot drive (Crucial M4 128) for my game drive because they load much quicker than from a HDD. I bought the Crucial as my second SSD because it was said to be the most reliable, and so it is (my first SSD, [Vertex 4 128] died after 15 days). The OCZ Vector series isn't doing much better, many DOAs and early death syndromes reported.

Thank you for your interest :)

The neutron gtx is decent.but I'm undecided between Intel and Samsung.Could you give me few more information about them for which reasons would you choose samsung or Intel? Thank you so much :)

Samsung because Samsung magician. Either choice will be good, since the ssd will outlast your rig by a few times if well taken care of.

i run a ssd (60gb kingston v200)) for my os and have games on another (120 gb sandisk extreme) with all my other stuff on 2 2tb drives and its working great for me.

the 60gb drive is pretty slow compared to some but it still boots into os in about 7 seconds from post to desktop. when i tested the 120 as the c drive it was not noticeably quicker at anything other than benchmarks so i switched it back and filled it with games.

i use 2 seagate greens for the storage and when they was inside a case i couldnt hear them over the slight hum of the case fans.

If you look through all the user reviews on NE, the Intel SSDs look like the most reliable, and probably are. Almost no DOAs or early deaths, and 90+% positive reviews. They're only middlin' fast, but this thread is about reliability only. The Samsung 830 series were also considered bullet-proof, but the early 840/840 Pro firmware had problems. I believe that the latest firmware (DXM05B0Q) has put any & all issues to rest.
So go with Intel for reliability. Speed is great, but not if you have to spend days reloading and tweaking your system after an SSD fails (like my Vertex 4).
So far my 840 Pro and M4 are doing great, luck-of-the-draw being the deciding factor in the end.

Thank you for your help Hood. It was so informative for me.:) What was the opening of NE btw? I can't found the name of the site :)

Ok I'll sort this out:
WD Caviar Green: 5400 (5900?)RPM disk for lots of space with silence and low power consumption prioritize over performance.
WD Caviar Blue: 7200RPM, general disks for most people. Recommend WD10EZEX for best value.
WD Caviar Black: 7200RPM, dual controllers optimized for performance but at the cost of higher power usage and more noise
WD RE: Black with RAID-optimized firmware
WD VelociRaptor: 10000RPM pointlessness

SSDs are surely newer but have already gone through some kind of restructuring which is a good development atleast for the end users like me. I was notified of a wrong perception on sandforce based SSDs which was making waves & misleading many people. I have off-late purchased a sandforce based Intel 520 which is unbelievably terrific. I am glad that I corrected myself & have purchased a product I can confidently refer to my friends. choose sandforce & you will never repent. Move on & bring the change in yourselves friends!
