I have two older laptops which I hoped to speed up with memory upgrades and SSDs. The first is working okay after three weeks. The second, mine, is not liking the Sandisk X400 512gb hard drive.

After two days of install, it started bluescreening in different ways (kernel, lost threads) after waking up from Sleep. On the third day, it became unrecognized by the BIOS and wouldn't boot. At this time, it also stopped responding normally when hooked up as an external hard drive through a SATA/USB connector -- it would "bleep" in connection and then disconnect, "bleep" in connection, disconnect, repeat, repeat.
Any ideas?
