Stability Help..

i Just got my new components about a two weeks ago :roll:

eVGA 780i (P03 bios)
c2d e8400
ocz reaper cl3 edition ddr800
8800gts 640mb

i had it over clocked to 4ghz since this chip can easily do that and it was running smooth, prime stable for 24 hours while running super pi 32m

4050ghz @ 1.3v

i didn't feel the need to push it any farther

however, after playing counter strike for a few hours the system just started BSOD
after every restart the times between BSOD's started getting shorter, and now i cant even boot to windows at 4ghz because the system will sometimes freeze in bios

but it works great at stock speeds, no problems yet.

anyone have any clue why it would be doing this...
the cpu has not overheated, nor has it had tons of volts pushed threw it... ive had the memory on SLI mode

im thinking it might be the motherboard? :wtf:

Probably memory, check Vdimm or maybe loosen timmings or reduce OC.

NB mobo temps/volts try raising volts if the temps are still ok if not get a new cooler for it

more cpu volts dude.. i had mine down there at first but it does need a little more.. mine is now at 1.34.. 1.3 at 4 gig is right on the edge.. a little more does the trick..

the 1.3550 give me a real 1.34.. use cpu-z to check the real voltage..

how mine is set..

just tested my memory at 933mhz 3-5-5-17 and runs fine
when im at 4ghz its only 900mhz

im going to test the motherboard fps now, and if its the mobo thats good cause it has lifetime with evga. if its the prosessor, hhopefully they will rma it sicne i didnt exactly kill it or anything

ive tried 1.355 and it was not stable, tried up to 1.375 and nothin... im thinking its the mobo

if it works at stock speeds its basically okay.. what about in between speeds.. 4 is big jump from 3.. ??

drop the multiplier on your cpu and see if other thing run at higher speeds..

yeah im working on it, i have a feeling the motherboard needs some more v's

got some orthos errors with the FSB up, with the multiplier at 6

so gave it a little more juice 1.3v to 1.4v and i think that was the problem
been orthos stable since (30 minutes)
