Stacking fans?

I just got my new Hyper N520 cooler from the local micro center and I was wondering if I could double stack 92mm fans. The fans have 10 blades and are placed to cover more of the heat sink fins with a small fan size. To increase the CFM and general static pressure could I stack another 92mm fan on top or under the fan?

Stacking fans doesnt really do much imo as the amount of air one fan can push thru isnt going to magically multiply just cause u added another fan directly under/over it.. then theirs the whole vacuum effect close proximity fans tend to cause.. Your better off just buying faster/higher quality fans.

Try to use those fans to push air from places it usually wouldn't get air from.

Stacking fans does between little and nothing.

When you stack fans they start fighting each other creating a hulluva lot of noise from my experience. Not a good idea, best just to get one higher powered fan.

stacking fan = more air pressure (only useful for a very dense fin arrangement, however you cooler is designed for normal fan, so you wont benefit)
also = more noise (the whooshy kind)

as said, place fans that direct air or take away at the fans already mounted. For example on the side panel.

I believe it is possible to get better air flow by doubling the fans but only if you get the fan speeds correct. I think one has to be a little slower than the other. Delta used to do one some time ago

If you want more air being pushed through, buy some Delta fans with 5000RPM. You'll get deaf before you can say "omfg, what a fan", but you'll get the best effect.

buzzzzzzz. bad idea. if you want more speed then use a better fan. simple. i have conducted numerous experiments on this and wasted countless hours. but its all worthless. fans dont like to be on each other

Unless the fan below it will be running counter to the rotation of the one on top of it, Stacking fans wont make sense.

Better to just get a higher air flow fan.
Which may mean more noise than the one you have but less noise and more functionality than stacking fans.

I was planning on just getting a crazy high CFM delta fan for my push. This cooler is set up great but the fans just are slow a crap ha.

It's amazing what a high flow decent case fan can do.

I had a Titan 120mm for my exhaust and my system was doing fine then I it burned out and I replaced it with a Thermal Take 120mm fan with a lower rpm.

Noticed my CPU was hotter than before but thought it maybe a motherboard issue, then i installed a AC Twin Tubo on my GPU which made the case even hotter causing my CPU temps to get rather high.

Ended up buying a new CPU and the temps were still the same.
Then I was given a Lian Li PC-G7 which has a higher flow exhaust and GPU exhaust fan.

The difference was significant.

Despite adding a bigger GPU cooler this also meant the case temps went up and the CPU cooler could not do it's job efficiently regardless of being a monster.

yea, good airflow is paramount. The way i used to test to see if i was getting the best airflow possible was to take off the side panel and direct a house fan inside at the components. If the temps didn't change with the side panel on or off, i knew i had decent airflow.
