I know I've see this somewhere, but lost it "upstairs" somewhere. They have an android supported chat app for SC?

Erocker: I mentioned a few pages back that I have a couple of real-life friends that joined LAMP with me and most of the time we'll be crewed up together. They expressed an interest in joining the TPU org. If I send you their info, could they join up? One of the two friends I'm talking about said he'd even join the TPU forums if required. I let him know I'd talk to you and get back to him.

Joining the forums isn't mandatory, though I don't say that in the thing. They can definitely join up, just have them do the application.

    Welcome to the party!

*Lol, I've been talking to a Spaceman Spif on RSI's site thinking it was you for the past couple months. I just realized it wasn't you.

I let them know. You should be getting one or two requests to join today that say they are my friend.
I did the same thing. Last time I looked, he was even using the calvin and hobbes avatar Spiff is.

Whats so amateur? Is it because its only going at light speed not warp speed?

Erocker, you really can't wait for this game can you.

Doesn't look super amateur. Short and simple. Could be the cryengine's beauty making up for your amateurness.

What's the cheapest I can get in on this and have the hanger and alpha? I'm registering now, but I have a question? Why do they ask for a Login ID, Community Monicker, and Handle? What do they mean to the game? Which will be the one everyone will see in game? I'll need a new stick as well.. lol I still have 2x Microsoft sidewider sticks that are my favorite, but the buttons are wearing out and I have a Saltik 3d Cyborg or something will either of these work? Just some noobish questions.

The $45 Aurora MR+ pack is the cheapest with alpha access.
We don't know about joystick/controller support yet. We know it will be in, but not what is supported.

Naw, I mean will that kind of stick be a good stick for this type of game or should I get one with the stick and the throttle separate? The biggest question is which of the three names will be seen in game by other users?

EDIT: The sidewider sticks I haven't used them in years, because of the buttons. It was just my favorite. I use the cyborg in BF4, but I don't like it as much.

Login ID: Only you see it

Community Moniker: What others see on the forums

Handle: Doesn't really matter. Best to have it the same as your Moniker.

Don't bother with HOTAS, joysticks for a while. There's a bunch of newer better things coming out.

If you want the Alpha/Beta, you need to buy a "single ship package". As random said, the Aurora MR package is the cheapest way to go.

Ah, right, it was the LN that was $45. If you feel you can drop the extra $5, the LN upgrade is worth it. You get extra weapon mount points, a larger powerplant, and better starting weapons.

I registered! Add Handle "Mindweaver" to the team. I'm still debating on what package to get, but I'll be getting one soon. :toast:

What is this blasphemy. Same avatar and all??? I must investigate.

Edit: Found this Spaceman Spif, however he is using an actual picture of calvin as spaceman spiff, but I managed to snag the real FULL name of Spaceman Spiff. *Insert maniacal laughter.*

"And the true Spaceman did look upon the impostor, and the impostor noticed not. And lo did the true Spaceman identify himself as such, in spite of the impostor. And the true Spaceman once again gazed upon the impostor, and was brought to laughter, for the true Spaceman had now been seen. And those who knew the true Spaceman did rejoice."

Hey guys I'm thinking about getting the 300i package with 4 months insurance. My big question is do I ever lose these ships when I lose insurance? Example: Someone more skilled than me blows up my ship after my insurance expires?

Yes, but just like cars in real life, you can pay a nominal fee in-game(with in-game currency) to insure it. Ideally, your ship and all of its upgraded parts are always insured, so that if the ship is destroyed, stolen, or lost, you can get it back.
Also, the 300i is a great choice. Versatile, quick, and just downright sexy. I started with the 300i, then the LTI sale came along and my friend had a birthday, so I gave him my 300i and replaced it with a 350r :D

EDIT: it's also worth mentioning that the base model ships (300i, Aurora MR, F7C Hornet, etc.) can be later upgraded to their variants. For example, if later on down the road you decide you want to turn your 300i into a dedicated fighter, you can purchase the 325a upgrade in-game, apply it, and you now have a 325a instead of the 300i. Of course, you don't need to change the hull to turn it into a fighter, but I was just using that as an example.
Also, if you don't feel like putting a lot of money into filling your hangar at this time and would rather try ships before buying(either by pledge or in-game currency), I've stated a few times in this thread that once the game goes live/playable with friends, you TPU guys are free to crew with me on my ship(s) or pop in to my hangar and try any of my ships. For example, I'll grab a ship and then one/multiple of you guys can grab another ship and we'll run missions together for a bit.

I just periodically step in here to see what's going on...

And damn it guys I really want this game now!!!!!
Not in the beta yet, as I don't have a computer to play on. Is there any word on specs for the game yet, other than "it'll be the next crysis"?
