358 slots left! Get them quick!

So, one of my friends was worried he wouldn't get an alpha slot in time for the DFM, and, more recently, because of the fact that the alpha slots are running out. Long story short, I sent him my Aurora LN game package and filled the now-empty slot in my hangar with a Freelancer, lol. I figured my LN wouldn't see much use, as I bought it as a dogfighter and ended up with a Super Hornet, and have been wanting a Freelancer for a while now, so it's a win-win, lol.
Does anyone else here look at their Billing and Subscription panel and cringe at the amount of money they've spent on SC?

Exactly. Well, all of the alpha, not just DFM. Also, CIG hasn't decided if they'll open up more slots for beta or not, so this may be the end of beta slots as well. I doubt they won't open up more slots for beta, though.

Yes, very time, and I'm barely over $300.... wow..... "Just" 300..... and I don't have my new HOTAS, or the new vid card(s) to handle the damn game... *sigh* I'm so screwed...

No they will not add more alpha. Just beta possible later. Still can buy packages for the game. I'm still sticking to my little Aurora and then I will work for the other ships.

They will not add more alpha slots. Beta is up in the air.
Oh, and if you see something in my hangar you wanna take for a while, just ask. I'm really looking forward to the social module so we can meet up in each others' hangars and check out all the different ships. When the PU goes beta/live, I'm expecting some of you guys and a few of my IRL friends to see something in my hangar they want to try, and depending on what it is, I'll probably tell you to hop in while I grab another ship and we go run a few missions together or something. With how social they want this game to be, it would really surprise me if they don't allow this sort of "sharing" of ships.

It is correct that they will not alpha slots to the current volume - those alpha slots are free with certain game packages. When they run out people still can get alpha access - it will just cost $5 for DFM alpha access and $5 for every subsequent module (planetside, FPS etc) that people want access to in alpha. Look at it as that we are running out of pre-paid alpha slots (paid for from certain stretch goals) and additional ones will only be granted if people pay for the extra capacity needed.

I don't look at my billing page anymore.. All I know is I'm close to getting the "Grand Admiral" rank

Alpha slots: I dug up and posted the FAQ earlier today, and it does say that in there.
And damn, you're near the Grand Admiral point? I about sh*t myself when I saw I'm close to the High Admiral point... that certainly puts things in perspective, lol.
At least we can say that hands-down, this is the most we've ever spent on a single video game. I think until now, the most I spent on a single game was around the $450 mark, and that can't really be counted as it included a console...

@human_error - that's what scares me a little about SC. They will let you buy your way in if you have the money. I really hope they don't try to nickel, and dime us with everything.

There goes the alpha slots and we're already 34% towards the next stretch goal as well (a couple of days after hitting the last one).

@Mindweaver - they won't nickle and dime us - there will be no in-game content that you can't buy with in-game credits - the only thing you have to spend money on will be "mission disks" which will be single player campaigns. There will be the option to buy in-game credits with real money, but that will be capped and only replaces what illegal gold farmers would be doing anyway.

By the way, Engine tuning and advanced scanning are losing at 21% to "Mystery Object" at 25%, whatever the hell that is...

I voted for mystery object, because engine tuning sounds a little too much like AC tuning from Armored Core 4, which was a horrible nightmare. The rest of the options sound bland, generic and boring, bar the scanner thing, a little mystery in life is always nice.

Screw that noise, I've been voting for the Engine Tuning Kit on every one of these. Do you really think it would be something so inane as the AC4 AC tuning?
In one of the 10 for the Chairman episodes, CR equated the tuning system to overclocking a computer. I'm sure most of us here have some experience doing that. Not everybody goes in and overclocks as hardcore as others, some may be happy with a 10% oc, others may shoot for the moon at 50%, but it all comes down to your willingness to learn and apply, your determination and perseverance, and a bit of luck concerning how well that particular item will overclock. The same applies here.
The more customization to the ships' systems, the better. CR already mentioned that those of you who don't want to spend the time doing it all yourself will have the option of having someone else do it for you or possibly have a sort of "auto-tune" option. The customization will be there for everybody, but I suspect most people won't fully delve into the different systems and tune them all. I plan to do so on at least one of my ships... probably all of them and then some.

So, I walked around in my Hanger for the first time last night, and jumped into my ship. It looks really good, but now I'm having "Tiny Hanger Envy"! lol Where the hell is my fish tank.. lol and do I have to buy the "Golf Cart"? I plan to try it with my Oculus Rift tonight. It would be kickass if they drop the DFM on us this weekend, but probably not...

Yea, the avenger might be my next ship. I like the 300i as well. Ben in chat said we won't see the DFM video today, but it should be ready tomorrow.

DFM module release date is currently unconfirmed. Possibly this or next month at some point.
