I don't understand either. The entire SC post he's linked to is just one giant made up piece of story with a million references to popular everything in it.

I think that's supposed to be the background for the dogfight module? that's my take, anyway..... with a "hats off" to Ultima's creator....

This is from someone on RSI website, to lazy to type it out.

For the uninitiated: * Henry Garrity = Richard Garriott (aka Lord British) * Ackbar = Akalabeth * ULTIMATE = Ultima * Oakhurst Online = Sierra On-Line * Dispute over holomaps = cloth maps * Charlie Bass = Chuck Bueche * Original Systems = Origin Systems * Caves of Terra = Caverns of Callisto * Tristan Blair = Chris Roberts (also note that the protagonist in the Wing Commander games was named Christopher Blair in WC3) * Times of Myth = Times of Lore * Arena Commander = Star Citizen Any further references are up to my fellow Citizens to work out... hopefully, 'The Future' will not come to pass.

It's a bit of background fluff and a giant easter egg. A nice tip of the hat to Origin Systems, the producers of the original Wing Commander series. If you're not familiar with them, this would fly harmlessly over your head.

I got an email invite to Xplor and it mentioned TPU by name. Did everyone get one?

Well they must want the best if they want TPU. If they really want us to join they should provide incentives - say, an idris for each TPU member? :p In the middle of their very long email they did boast on their Idris count, seems to me they could do lightening the load a little ;)

I got that email too, they only actually own 2 idris' though. Not particularly interested in this org spam, seems a good way to water down the community spirit. The forums are awful, I'm not in any hurry to expand from our well associated org to some random org alliance I don't know

Yeah, I really don't have any plans to do an overall organization alliance. Folks are free to sign up for any org they want and since we have a bunch of people who want to do different things it just doesn't make sense.

*Also, just noticed in the RSI forums that there's now a thread complaining about XPLOR spamming invites, lol.

Good, I didn't particularly like getting an email like that. I hope they do something so it doesn't happen again. I just figured I'd ask before deleting. Now I know, for future invites, just delete it.

I noticed the speed the money is coming in has slowed substantially. Kind of sad but also expected.

Yup got the invite as well. I came to our thread to see if anyone was talking about it earlier but did not see any mention of it. I guess they are just trying to recruit as many as possible?

More than just freelance groups - their template changes depending on what type of org you belong to. These are the kind of humongous groups that collapse a few weeks into a new game launch.

I don't like humongous groups. They usually try to break the game.
I'm glad CIG is designing the game in a way that those groups can't break the game. :)

I have Watch_Dogs to hold me over until my DFM download is finished. :D Luckily, I'm not experiencing any of the issues others are, except for the occasional slowdown while driving, and I'm not even on the recommended GPU drivers...

    Y'all excited that tomorrow's the big day?!:rockout:
