Hey! Yes it has been a while. I'm taking a bit of a break from PUBG - I find that I get frustrated while playing it and don't particularly enjoy the game. Not much point playing a game I don't enjoy tbh.@THE_EGG hey man. Long time since we talked, always said we will get back into some PUBG,never got around...even tho i will love to.
The reason i am kinda summing you here is cuz i found out you got Battlefront 2 and have some experience with it sine you have been playing. Kinda wanted to private message you, but why not talk here,so the community can join in the discussion.
You mentioned something about aim bots (but only happened once). Is there a way to report the player at the end or during the match ?
Tell us more about everything ...i wanna know about how the space ships battle happen, how many types of matches are there , which one did you find to be the best ? Can you talk to people on your team? Hows the community ? How does the game handle itself on your machine (do you keep a steady 60fps) ?
I am asking so much about the different types of matches, cuz really i don't care much about the team deathmatches. In Black ops 3 there so many type of game plays , no one is active and they only play deathmatches.....but since this is a new game i guess the servers are full of people.
What exactly do you need to do to play with a hero champion ? Do you feel the people around you ,especially the champions are OP ? Tell us more about the loot boxes, and if you felt the need to grind ?
- Is this a game you can come back from work and just enjoy for a few hours (like PUBG) ....or is it a must to invest many many hours of grinding on different things ?
I know it's a lot. There is nothing on the internet regarding this game. The hate towards Ea is real, and all people talk about is how much they hate the game. Give us all the details please. Thing is this new computer of mine will not stay new forever (graphics card will have to be changed) but right now for the december season i feel like i wanna game on something new and awesome looking. For me it was between Destiny 2 and Battlefront 2, i don't know which one to get. And i actually feel like supporting the community in NOT getting this one, just cuz i don't want to give EA my money. I would love to get Destiny 2, but man i don't have the time ...that one feels like a complete farming frenzy.
There is a way to report the player but it isn't easy. You have to find them through Origin and place a report on them. I didn't know how to until someone told me during the match with the aimbotter. I believe EA are pretty good with getting rid of aimbotters but I could be wrong.
Just a note there is NO server browser sadly but the games that I've joined haven't had any lag so it doesn't bother me too much. I've only played the Galactic Assault (40player maximum) game mode so far and am enjoying it a lot. I'm not good at flying starships so I haven't really played the starship game mode or any others just because I'm enjoying Galactic Assault so much. You can still fly and drive vehicles in Galactic Assault though and some of the dogfights are pretty epic. Galactic Assault generally involves capture points, escorting large walkers(AT-ATs)/transports(MTTs) and placing explosives on targets etc. It has a good variety of maps and takes place over the 3 eras (Episodes 1-3, 4-6 and 7->). Heroes and vehicle/ship selection is quite vast.
The sound design and graphics quality are truly fantastic in the game (think BF1 skinned with Star Wars - which it probably is but for good reason imo). Movement feels similar to BF1 though the jumping and scaling animations aren't in BFII. Something annoying I've found is that when using the walkers (e.g. AT-ST or the smaller one - I forget the name), they sometimes get stuck in small depressions in the ground and it takes a bit of moving around to free it.
The "standard" heroes and vehicles are unlocked during gameplay when you have enough "battlepoints" which are your points you earn in a match. Note that battlepoints deplete when you choose to spawn in an AT-ST or as a Rocket-Trooper or hero etc but this will not deplete your score. If you are playing for The Republic/Rebels then you get heroes such as Han Solo, Lando, Rey etc. Some heroes such as Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader are behind a "credits wall" where you need to unlock them through the menu using credits before you can use them (read as unlock them) in-game. After 5.5 hours of gameplay I've accumulated about 18,000 credits including those I've gained in the daily loot-boxes and rewards from achievements.
This link will give you a better idea of how the champions/heroes work. http://www.usgamer.net/articles/21-...ns-guide-how-to-unlock-every-hero-and-villain
Are the heroes OP ? Yes, compared to the normal Assault/Heavy/Specialist/Officer classes but that's the way it should be imho. They are certainly targeted heavily by an enemy team though so you have to be careful not to waste your 6,000 battlepoints by getting killed easily - something I do too often . Heroes and vehicles have a limited number of users per team so a team can't just consist of 20 Darth Mauls, only 1.
Cards (read as perks) are either crafted using some kind of in-game currency (I forget the name) and I've earned enough to unlock 4 cards after 5.5 hours of gameplay. Frankly though all that stuff I find annoying and confusing so I generally don't bother with it.
Basic loot-boxes are given out daily and more special ones are given out for achievements etc. I think these will work similarly to the Battlepacks in BF1. There are NO micro-transactions any longer as EA turned them off. However this doesn't mean that EA can't just turn them on again in the future.
I don't find it 'grindy' at all tbh. I find it to be one of the more relaxing FPS games I play but I can take it seriously too if I like. I use all default weapons and still place pretty highly (top 5 on the team normally). Though for the first 2 or so hours I found the game quite challenging while I adjusted to it, typically placing towards the bottom of the team at the end of each match. I think Destiny would be the more 'grindy' out of the two games.
I understand the hate EA is getting and quite frankly if the micro-transactions were still in the game then my thoughts on the game might be wildly different and I may even hate the game - I can't speculate too much though. It is difficult to find reviews and thoughts on the game without it being filled with hate about micro-transactions.
TL DR
Overall, I'm finding the game very enjoyable and it's currently my go to FPS game (apart from Overwatch which I still play regularly). Most of the matches are generally close and it's quite rare to have a match that is a stomp fest. It certainly is a game which I can play for 20 minutes or for 2 hours. I don't find the heroes or loot-boxes to be OP. I only find the crafting cards stuff to be a load of BS but eh....
Edit: The game runs smoothly for me. I typically see over 60fps though sometimes it will bog down into the low 50s when there is a load of stuff happening. I play with 3840x2160 with the "ultra" preset.
Umm I haven't tried chatting to my teammates using voice. I haven't heard anyone either though so maybe there is no voice chat? I'm not sure.
The community is nice enough (they seem a bit more chilled and mature compared to BF1) and as you mentioned, I said there has only been the 1 aimbotter that I've experienced over the last week.
