Epic trailer = dismal game.

This trailer shows everything you'd want from a Star Wars game with light sabers, space battles, planet battles, jedi, favorite characters... But still skeptical.

I do wish it would be awesome as I'd love to play a great Star Wars game again.

Make Star Wars Games Great Again!

It's $60 for us for the base game and $80 for "Elite Trooper Deluxe Edition" whatever in the hell that is. But yeah, people will pre-order it just because it's something Star Wars.
Star Wars has to be the most exploited movie and game of all time.

If they have not improved over the first Battlefront game, then absolutely not. I can hear the cries of all those people who paid $30-40 (if not more) for the season pass only find out that NOBODY PLAYS THE F****G GAME NO MORE so they cant get to play any of the new game modes/maps unless they like spending a few hours waiting for a game to start because lack of players.

Does EA even care?

Is hell no an option? Paid 120 last time for them to drop support and have zero servers less than a year after release.

Seriously I'm not one to qq about a game. Especially one I knew better than to buy but, shit I didn't expect it to lose support like it did. I'll vote with my wallet. Dice makes awesome trailers. They can keep this game like the black statue (aka Eddie Murphy) of BF1.

Battlefront 1 was just a tech demo for this game it seems. They are also going back to the class system from the originals and content from all 3 eras. Prequels, original trilogy and TFA. Also they just announced there will be no seasons pass. The single player is all imperial, and tells story of a unit that has been kept under the wraps by Disney. Theres a book that will be canon later this year based on the unit as well.

Your triple triple got me thinking 333 is the new number of the beast that now lurks in modern times.

Bonus points if you get the reference.

I didn't think EA's Battlefront was the greatest game ever, but I had a lot of fun playing it. Did it have flaws? Of course, but I still had fun. This new game is screaming content which was embarrassingly missing from the first. I guess time will tell...

I played Battlefront 2 already. On my PS2. About 15 years ago. I hate it when companies do shit like this.

^ it was 12 years but still the point remains. Why the same name? Now there's a Battlefront II wiki page and a Battlefront II (2017) wiki page...

goes with there Battlefront and Battlefront (2015) wiki pages...

as for the lack of content and lack of players...they sold 14 million units in 6 months (granted a ton of that was pre-order)

there's going to be more of these, no matter how crappy.

I definitely don't think EA's Battlefront was a "crappy" game, that is just a hyperbole. I think it was a good game, but not great. I would easily give it a solid 7.5 out of 10. I think the lack of classes, lack of a single player campaign and the lack of Galactic conquest (a fan favorite) really hurt the game. Everyone knows that EA's Battlefront was rushed and they even admitted it because they wanted to launch it along the hype of The Fore Awakens. This could finally be the Battlefront that we have been waiting for all of these years and at the bare minimum its going to be better than its predecessor.

^ to be fair galactic conquest only existed in the 2005 Battlefront II, so if they were planning a 2 there was no need to pump any features in that weren't in the original.

at any rate I didn't say the game was crappy. I said it sold well, so there will be sequels, even if they are crappy.

As an overall game the second battlefront (2005) was better than the first (2004) but the actual mechanics of the first are still my favorite, especially when it comes to map planning and special classes. The original droideka and jet troopers might have been a bit OP (especially prior to patches) but they were epic to play as. The maps might have amped this up by making it much easier for those classes to get where they need to faster.

I think this thread has inpired me to go check out the originals. nothwing wrong with them save for graphics and tbh as long as it's dx 8 and above I don't mind so much anymore.
