If it's anything like classic tie-fighter, you won't want the TIE. Fast, but no shields, and a deathtrap (the cabins weren't even pressurized). X-wing is far more decked out and ALSO fast.

The logic from the TIE Fighter series was the Rebel Alliance always had better fighters, but lacked big capital ships to compete with the Empire.

Of course, none of this is lore anymore, because Disney.

Thanks for that, it was informative especially the information regarding TM1600 support. I can see from that article that even though the author had some technical issues and was uninspired by some of the visuals he still very much enjoyed the experience. It's one day away so I am excited. I got it on Epic but I saw a site that had it for a discount $33.49 (CAD).

Pre release version is a bugfest with good core gameplay and almost no content.

Looks like I'm waiting until they've pooped out all the DLCs and passes for this, and also, this is still EA, so its definitely the best approach anyway.

I know exactly what you mean and Han Solo is dead but Mando has given me hope. To be honest I was on the fence with this and more liking Everspace 2 but after I watched that CG Trailer they launched about 2 weeks ago I was sold. I will say that one thing, Disney made Star Wars more popular for Star Wars Heads (Battlefront 2 best attribute is the campaign) with the quality of the Games and the refocus on the wants of the consumer. Indeed this could be the Game that moves VR into the mainstream as a Quest 2 is $399 (CAD) or basically $300 US. That is a perfect price for something you will be able to use with the PS5 and XBox1X. The President of the Company for which I am employed has told us we will be working from home until at least the end of 1st quarter 2021. That means that it will have time to spread. With the addition of Chinese customers we living in the West really have no concept of how HUGE 1st World Pop Culture is in China (Steam tripled it's user base the day it launched TW3K).

I agree. Fallen Order was an example of EA behaving, and was actually pretty good. If only they keep it up.

Well I started at 4 this morning and I can say that the Tie Fighter flies smooth as butter and I can see VR would be insane for some scenes. I liked the Tie Fighter until I got a little further in the Game and got my Xwing. The Xwing gives you the feeling of impunity in dogfights. Overall I am happy and I can't wait to finish work today as there is no European soccer on the DAZN so Squadrons here we come.

Yeah it seemed to have some issues going all the way down to 0.0 mb/s but finished after about 3.5 hours. I got the Epic version but it launches from both Radeon and GOG.

Until you play Fallen Order and understand the further you get in the Game the more kinetic it becomes. There is something I saw about Jedi High Republic which if in the vein of Old republic would be absolutely epic from the stills I have seen.

Played this last night and today a bit. I'm on the fence honestly. Visually looks good, runs great @ 4K so no complaints there but single player is blah and multiplayer is not really that fun. Flying with m/k isn't too bad but I don't like it much, not sure if breaking out my hotas would be worth it. I hear there is a bad deadzone that cannot be corrected with hotas but I don't know if that's true. Right now just trying to decide if a refund is in order or not.

I dunno, the main character just kind of bugged me. Too whiny or something. I think the bigger problem is that the V56 can't handle the game a 1440UW.

Been playing for hours this evening, mixture of both Story and Fleet Battles. Honestly, I love it. It plays well. Story is good, fun, but easier, fleet battles though. Even against AI, is challenging.

The dogfighting is great, it's odd, I find in fleet battle the Ywing is much better than the Xwing and find using this more. She just feels smoother.

Visuals are amazing and it does truly play well. I'm maxing my 144 refresh rate maxed out at 1440.

This is one game that could convince me to buy VR.

Okay, anyone finding the control explanation in options a bit annoying, (doesn't really say what the controls do) especially in HOTAS.

basically all reviews i read on this game are the same, its a great game, but VR mode is buggy. if your buying it for VR mode, then hold for some patches and price drop, if not, then buy now and have a blast.

so it just depends what mode you play really is what i gather

Loving it! Especially love that you can totally go full Sim with no HUD, full HOTAS support it’s a SW fans dream come true for getting it right. It runs and looks great.

It does look very nice indeed and I'm toying with the idea of throwing a $10 Epic coupon at the $40 list price, but it has to have a decent amount of single player.
Is it worth $30 for the single player element?
