That's why you hit authenticate :shadedshu
i don'ts got the name or password
then it's not ur mac lawels
figures there would be plenty of Mac bashing in here.
its payback for those terrible mac ads on TV.
Its just so easy to bash ;-)
plus the post ontop and below me(sounds kind of dirty if you think of it)
my post is above yours.
and now below yours as well.
I'll give you that.
Those ads started out unfunny, and got unfunnier until they were so unfunny, they were actually funny, but not because they were any good, but because they were just that bad.
I'm actually going to admit, I at first hated the Microsoft 7/8 second ads, but some are pretty witty, and definitely better than just bashing the competition.
Still, I my MBP *stroke*
I for one have reason for bashing macs, my whole family uses macs, im the sole pc user, and the one who never has problems. They are trying to convert me by saying its much better and runs better, and never crashes and doesnt get viruses.
I just have a debate with them until they give up, but for some reason what i tell them isnt enough to make them convert to pc, or convert back. Probably cuz they payed a premium for something i could of payed alot less for.
opengl will hopefully get a big boost out of this. plus this is a great segue to getting this stuff on linux.
well its a mac that the school gave me but they keeped there security on it
Wonder how they're gonna port Source games to Mac. Last I checked it's easier said than done to convert dx calls to opengl effectively.
I don't mind those ads, what I mind is those zealot mac users. I had some of them in my work and they are the a pain in the ass.
Well you know Portal was free because Valve didn't ship titles people were really waiting for. No L4D, no HL...what was the point of launching now really? Just dumb.
You wouldn't want Steam on 360 or anything where you could play with XBL players. Don't know why? Play a few games of L4D on XBL. Its like the players congealed out of a vat of boomer bile.
Yeap, this isn't Gizmodo (fortunately).
@Delta6326: You don't need to put every application into the Application folder, copy it into your personal Documents folder, run it from there, might work. It installs everything into your Documents folder anyway (which is stupid), so it's likely you won't need permissions.
@Necrofire: Games that use Steam's middleware/API/whatever, are sort of ported automatically. I believe they made it originally with the plans for making it portable, so graphics calls were handled by the API, and then were sent to either DirectX or OpenGL. That explains why it works easily. There are a lot of casual games that are available for Mac, so the other available games on Steam are simply the Mac version being downloaded, rather than the PC version, both of which are on Steam servers I figure.
@NC37: Those will probably be coming in the next few weeks, there'll be new releases on Wednesdays. I assume so that they can show off new Steam features each week. I like the fact it's Portal and all, but I think multiplayer games for Steam Play would have been more effective. For example; Play a few rounds on your work Mac at lunch (when the boss isn't looking), go home, and continue on your PC. Although they might be displaying the advantage of Steam Cloud for this, so you have your tags, keyboard and mouse settings, etc all stored remotely for you.
Except they no longer come with one button mice, and haven't for at least 5 years.
we all know that. its still funny to think about it tho.
I think it's just stupid and annoying, even more so than the Mac ads themselves, which is pretty damn bad, considering how immensely annoying the ads are. It quit being funny like 10 years ago or so.
i had to suffer through 4 years of high school IT classes with one button optical mice. the hate for those mice runs deep.
Should've brought your own mouse. 2 button mice have worked on them since OS X first released.
we didnt have OSX. i aint that young.
lol, the power of assuming.
Worked in OS 9 as well, but you had to use a 3rd party driver.
school PC's. they didnt let us bring anything more than a floppy disk - and no installing anything or you got suspended
annnyway, back to portal talk?
Separate names with a comma.
