Need some help here with steam

When you download from steam are the manuals some place. It would be nice if they are. I found torch lights but not Dirt2's not that it's needed but it would be nice.

If you right-click the game there should be an option to see the game manual.

So two major and long-anticipated total conversion mods are released in the last couple of days (Mech Warrior and Galactic Warfare) and neither game required to play them is on sale when almost every other title is. Coincidence or conspiracy? :p

We need to sticky this thread and call it all things related to Steam/ deals and questions. On that note say your hard drive crashes how do you get your steam games back for a reinstall?

When you re install your steam account onto a new hdd or old, you will have the ability to redownload the games. Whenever I move hdd's I save the steam folder to the new drive, then whenever you install steam, it finds all the "steam" related products on that system

As for MW2.. I really don't think you'll see any deals for it soon.. Spore was like this.. Since they where priated so much, it took about 6m before the first spore sale

If you haven't played the original LFD, it's worth getting for $7.50

Osmos is worth playing the demo for sure. It's an innovative game for physics.

Back up the steamapps folder in the Steam directory or you'll have to redownload everything. It may be huge but that's what you gotta do. While that sucks hard when you don't have a backup, if you do it's awesome becuase you don't have to manually reinstall, patch and mod 50 games :). Makes upgrading drive, reinstalling OS etc less of a pain too, obviously.

Weird thing I noticed, when I restarted Steam. The "deals" windows popped up with today's goodies and there is a game(Call of Duty: World at War 50% off) that I don't see in the store. Are they doing different deals for different regions?

It's showing up for me at £15 reduced from £30? If it doesn't show up then you could paypal me the money and I could gift to you?

Thanks, but I was just curious about it. Don't really like World at War that much :)

On a side note, I just got Osmos. I tried the demo and it was just soooooo relaxing... seems like it will be the kind of game perfect to play in between hours of TF2 :toast:

*edit*
What the...
They just removed the Civilization stuff(except Civilization 4) and put Call of Duty instead. What's going on?

I'm always looking for kid friend games for my 7 year old son

I wanted to recommend this game to any of you fellas who have younger kids who liked the game The Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. It's drawn in that same cartoon style and if you like that kind of animation you will love this game. It received a bunch of semi negative review because of it's style but I think the reviewers forgot it is aimed at kids 7 to 13 and even though Hitman Studios made it, it is not supposed to be a ultra violent game. It is made for kids and reminds me of a Saturday morning cartoon. I think it's really cool.

for 20 bucks your kids will love it http://store.steampowered.com/app/35000/
