Steelpad releases new massive mouse pad for gamers

SteelSeries has just introduced a new mouse pad with a thickness of 6mm called "SteelPad QcK heavy". It has the same massive dimensions as the SteelPad QcK+ (Our review here), but is 6mm thick. The heavy thickness of the mouse pad eliminates problems from uneven surfaces, making the mouse pad suitable for gaming at LAN-events and other which often provide battered, tilted or second-hand tables. The mouse pad was developed with Team 3D, the first Counter-Strike team ever to hold world championships in both Counter-Strike 1.6 & Counter-Strike: Source as well as the russian player mouz|cooller who is considered one of the best allround Quake-players in the world.

Hmm, the quality of the original 3mm thick version i got to review was perfect... couple that up with the thickness of that one, and it'l be too awsome.

a lot of gaming later, mine's still in perfect conidition

they're cirtainly very well mad pads.

I really hate that all of these mouse pads are so huge. An 8x10 is plenty big, even that is still almost too big. I don't use more than maybe 4x6 of my current mouse pad.

Yeah Im a bit confused on why a gamer mousepad needs to be so big, don't most gamers use high percision mice along with high sensitivity?

You gotta try it to understand, it takes a while to get used to though. I'd never go back to a small mouse pad after getting used to this.

BTW, i do use a high precision mouse with high sensetivity (1600dpi), but this thing still comes in useful in battlefield 2. Especially in Tanks for example, where you need to move the mouse quite a lot to get a full rotation of the turret.

I don't mean to sound like a salesman, and the point of it's size can be a problem for some, but just because it doesn't suit you doesn't make it useless

I dont like pads that are soft. They need to have a firm surface, or they are useless to me.

Hmm, i was just thinking that. The thin one that i have is firm enough, but if the thicker one is made of the same base material, it might be too soft.

Off topic: yeah, that can actually be really annoying sometimes :mad:

On topic: I've got used to not using a mouse pad most of the time because my logitech works really well on my desk. I guess that is a smooth and flat surface though, although I might go and get my mouse pad and see if I feel like going back to it actually. Wouldn't get one of these though I don't think.

Super Fine high grit sandpaper + my desk = my mouse pad, works like a charm, maybe time for an upgrade though.
