I disagree, these of some of the best changes that could have happened to an already *almost* perfect headset. I've had a pair of Siberia's for several years and love them. This is just a great excuse to go and get another pair :p

Inline microphone, more comfortable earpads and better sound quality! :toast:

intresting....

Is the 7.1 soundcard anygood?

and these specs:
- Frequency response: 10 - 28.000 Hz
- Impedance: 32 Ohm
- SPL@1kHz, 1Vrms: 112 dB

I wanna compare this headset to that of the Razer Megalodon. But i dno whats good and thats why i asked about the 7.1 as the Megalodon has it.

Hmm interesting that's what always was a let-down with the originals with the mic been separate. With mine I put the mic on the top of the cord. Be nice to have it integrated like those. But I don't use my siberas much anyway. They are definitely the comfiest headset iv had. Unfortunately my in-line remote has started to fail... keep meaning to strap it across so it bypasses the variable resistor!

I think 7.1 whether true (yet to see an actual physically true 7.1 headset) or emulated is wrong for a headset. 5.1 is more phesable, but it's been around a lot longer too. I'm sure 7.1 will eventually become a more polished emulated product down the road because of companies like SteelSeries and Razer. The new V2 looks decent and comfortable to say the least.

The 7.1 usb sound card is probably similar to that of other headsets that use cmedia technology, except with an extra 2.0 as many are 5.1. It won't sound crappy, but it won't be the best either...for many it'll probably suit just fine. From what I've heard of the Megalodon's 7.1, it's not really a desirable feature in many games. Too bad they didn't include a 5.1 option, it's either 7.1 or 2.0...meh. I'll stick with my JVC's and my Auzen X-Fi + CMMS-3D, nothing else has proven as effective to my ears in the same price-range yet.

I highly doubt that 7.1 soundcard will be any different to the old one and yes, as someone mentioned it will be fine but it won't give you any super powers in games or make you enjoy listening to music (unless you have low standards ofc).

Just normal 2.0 headphones? Like about 99% of other headphones except for those that have like 5 or more speakers built inside them. You're better off getting an actual sound card instead of the USB one and it will sound about 10x better, even for the same price (Creative Soundblaster Audigy 7.1 SE even)
