The SteelSeries SteelSound 5H USB is a quite unique gamer headset. The microphone is retractable and for easier transportation you can take the whole unit apart. In addition to the headset you get a USB based sound card which makes sure you get the sound you are used to, no matter where you are. We compared this headset against the popular Sennheiser PC 160 and were amazed by the quality of the SteelSound headset.

You should enable microfone boost in windows if you're not using the USB soundcard. Otherwise go to the mixer screen in the USB soundcard control panel and turn up the input level. If this doesn't work you could try and contact SteelSound support.
