Steep, anyone own it?

Debating buying Steep at the end of the month, just trying to get pplz opinions on the game before I decide. Also wondering if it's worth getting pc version over xbox one.

I didn't think it was a good game at all. I bought the PC version on Steam plus the season pass for like $80. Immediately regretted it and asked for a refund. The game just isn't that much fun and the controls aren't good. Also I didn't realize it was Ubisoft and they insist on that UPlay crap to be running constantly. I'm done with Ubisoft games.

Check out the Steam reviews. Even the positive ones always seem to take a swipe at certain features (not just the always online mode for a singleplayer game either which is complete bullshit).

I also bought the PC version and I didn't like it either. I got a refund from steam. I've been skiing since I was 11 years old (over 30 years now) and I generally like any video game that lets me ski. Steep sucked though.

Understand you not liking the game, how ever expecting UBI launcher to turn of after the game is starting is like expecting steam to turn off too. If you want less running buy it them from UBI directly. Lets face it they gotta try to protect their revenue.

I don't like UBI launcher but as far as having problems with it i have had none for a hell long time now.

As for the game forget about it and wait till it pops up for $10

When you buy games on Uplay instead of buying Uplay games on Steam and trying to run them thru Steam you have virtually no problems. Like @AsRock no problems with Uplay for several years now. But I go direct to Uplay.

As for the OP, no I have no plans on buying it. As for Dsharp... like the above posts, I have had no issues with it. I have had less problems with uplay than I have had with EA origin.

I don't agree with having to be online in a singleplayer game. It's lame so I vote with my wallet. If your internet goes down you get disconnected. Period.

Anyways the game is crap. It'll be $20 in a couple of months time. Might be worth it then.

The controls are fine, theres just a bit of a learning curve. I played a bunch of the beta and loved it. Plan on buying it at some point.

I bought it during Xmas sales, as I was about to go on holidays in the snow. Expensive and demanding as it is, it just does not look good enough! Gameplay is like all ski games....

When I saw the stage demo of this, I couldn't help but think it's just a slightly better looking game that features style point jumps, and that genre never appealed to me.

I watched somebody play Steep and wasn't feeling it. I wish EA would make another SSX game and port it to PC with cross-network play like Rocket League.
