That is really friggin immense. I was never much of a fan of biology going through school but seriously with some of the articles posted here i'm starting to become fairly keen on learning more! Thanks for posting.
I knew about the stem cell, I didn't think it was quite a "new" discovery, though I did not know that it is hard to track.
This sounds excellent. Perhaps in a few years they can stop relying on blood donations from people, which are beset with problems and start manufacturing blood to maintain a perfect and pure supply at all times.
Infusions are bullshit anyway, studies show that it takes hours for the infused blood to start carrying oxygen after being stored for almost any length of time. Arterial volume for pumping and maintaining vascular inflation at minimum diastolic pressures are the most important factors. The human body shuts off extremities to preserve blood flow to critical parts.
Perhaps this will allow for something that works.
Stem cell's never dissapoint.
I bet mice are getting tired of this.
