Stick Thred to stop repete postings about the same crap

ok in the last 2 weeks i have seen 5+ posts about sound cards and if they are better then onboad and what sound cards better and so on and so forth, i think putting up a thred that has links to such threds would be wise, stop this constant posting the same dam question by the new people who cant figuar out what the search buttons for.

some topics that would be good to do this with would be things like

sound cards

cpus(will xx chip be better then xx chip for me, or will XX chip work in my board, and such)

hard drives(what brands are better and such)

drivers for XXX device and where to get them.

those are just some of the topics i see over and over and OVER AND OVER here, and they endup being very repeditive, specly when the person could just read a current thred or 2 then ask their question if they have one in that thred!!!!

what do you all think, would this be a good idea?

There's pros and cons, as always.. A good thing is that everything is gathered in one single thread. A bad thing is that people tend to ignore such threads. Another bad thing is that they will probably turn into big and confusing threads. Confusing for new people at least.. And then there is this slight chance that new people don't feel welcome.

However, if we don't make those threads the forum might suffer the "n00bification" ie the forum is full of n00bs (no offence; n00bs are good people) and all of them scream out "Hlp Plz! Vidd carrd bad!! HLP!!" or something (this happened to another forum I used to be active in, it's not a pleasant sight).

So: I don't know what to make of it.

a few of the threds u get when you search "soundcard" and "sound card" not to mention searching things like
onboard sound
intagrated sound
hd audio
ac97 sound

and the like, this is a real PITA, i think if we can get some people to gather threds about the same thing, then list the best ones, and then make a stick like "Questions?, Need Help or advice?, Read Here FIRST(before you post)"
that could help clear up alot of the redundant posts, also would put the info needed into more condenced form insted of spred allover the place!!!!
