1x 8gb hyperx 1866mhz
Corsair gs 750w psu

samsung evo 512gb
router : dlink dir 600m
windows 7 ul (fully updated sp1)

so i have a strange issue since my last fix for pc were i changed my motherboard from intel dh61ww [H61] to a asus P8Z77-V-VLX2, and added a 8gb hyperx 1866mhz ram

now i have tried to resolve this in many ways but failed and i cant triangulate the source of these issues any help would be much appreciated none of these were problem before upgrades, i dont know how to change ram speed or stress test even, i cant understand bios settings for ram so am afraid to touch it

issues :

(1) = opening a website takes over 2 sec of time as it says downloading proxy or something this happens randomly and usually once for each restart on a website and this has caused me many other issues most of the games servers that gave me 160 ping now give me 300 and most games such as pubg or csgo cant connect to servers takes 4-7 game restarts for it to connect to internet , i have tried fixing this by changing dns on router but it had no effect what so ever

(2) = all my game launchers work terribly or not at all this wasn't the case before upgrade example = steam takes 5 mins to open when i close it but not when i restart and or delete temp folder and start steam origin just crashes half the time and 100% of the time pc starts, i cant even install battlenet at all it hangs half way through download, i reinstalled win7

(3) = strange lags when am on crome were mouse would shutter for half a sec randomly, this lag is rare and usually does not occur in games strangely

all these issues are persistent throughout win7 reinstall so i have reason to believe this is not really a software issue

some cpuz screenshots here if anyone can figure out something

Ram is mixed in an uneven configuration, most likely running in single channel. Did you do a fresh OS install, im unaware if 7 has the restore function that removes all mobo drivers @Solaris17 what was it called again?

By the way has the firmware been updated before on your Evo SSD?

its called sysrep but it will make him re-do his user account. I would bank on it being RAM or drive failure. You can test the ram with TPUs MEMTEST64 software, or you can search windows for "memory" in the start menu. It should bring up the windows memory diagnostic. This will allow you to test the ram. Its not fool proof, but if you are not comfertable with anything else it may be your only option.

You can also give CDI a run. It reads smart data and should tell you if your drives are going bad.

Move the 4GB sticks to slots #1 and #3 and put the 8GB in slot #2. Some times just by moving the ram around it solves itself. The thing is you're using 3 different RAM sticks of 2 sizes... You're only fix might be to remove the 8GB stick... If it still isn't fixed, try with only 1 stick in slot# 1.

It could also be your SSD, the SATA port or the SATA cable. Make sure the SSD is properly plugged, try another SATA port and cable.

Even on Win 7 it would cause the account to be recreated?

Were the mother board drivers installed after installing the OS? I would recommend going to ASUS and doing so.. https://www.asus.com/uk/Motherboards/P8Z77V_LX2/HelpDesk_Download/
Start with the chipset driver and then reboot and reinstall the rest of the motherboard drivers then reboot and reinstall the video drivers ...good luck!

sorry for late reply, rainstorm knocked out my internet last night

i had some time to critically think the problems and methods and i discovered that win7 iso i was using was same iso i used and it had the win7 launch virsion that i had to update to sp1 and disabled updates i will update win7 to see if some issues go away, is there a way to download fully updated win7 iso trial from Microsoft ?

I've had strange lag issues before on Windows 10, but not due to the same reasons. It's just weird, since it only started when the Fall update had come out awhile back. First it was when the Optane 900p first came out.. then another was some kind of issue with the Intel/GPU and external GPU software installed. I got it resolved somehow (I think by changing the order I installed the drivers), but I figured I'd point it out to show it was a software issue. I don't know if that helps at all, but maybe it's not a major hardware issue. Keep messing with the drivers.

I can't look at this in detail now, but it sounds to me like a storage related issue. Check the SSD is working in the right mode and run a health check on it.

EDIT: it could also be a RAM issue like the others are saying here, but for just running the desktop, I would still expect it to feel "fast", since it's not a big load for a modern PC.

Have you installed the samsung software for the SSD? windows 7 doesnt work correctly on SSD's out of the box

After that, can you run benchmarks on the system, bench the SSD, run IntelBurnTest and see if the CPU throttles?

all these issues are persistent throughout win7 reinstall so i have reason to believe this is not really a software issue

This is what I thought after reinstalling Windows 10 like 5 times on a laptop thinking everything else was an issue but Windows. It turned out whole new Win10 build was borked and several updates for the last build. But since I always fully updated OS after clean install, it was screwed up every time as a result. Then I did vanilla install and it was fine. Then I had to pick updates one by one to find which are problematic.

If you know your vanilla Win7 SP1 worked fine for sure, I'd try that. Install it, no updating and check how things work. Win7 is still receiving some updates afaik and it's quite possible MS fucked something up recently like it did for me. I've also gone through all drivers and apps and everything and in the end, OS itself was the reason...

Just bringing up a random thing i encountered just now, that might be relevant here

Had a PC that worked half the time, but the other half when it was online doing something like a speedtest - you'd see 50KB/s and the system would lag horribly
Windows reinstalls did nothing, but every now and then BAM full speed again

In the end it was the C: drive failing, it was hitting bad sectors, remapping, working for a bit and hitting another one.

Don't rule out hardware failures, in this case the owner was insisting it was an issue with his network card or router because the symptom he saw was the slow speedtests

thanks for reply , i dont have low speed test results as of now, but i understand the possibility of a drive failure i had my vertex 4 die on me on a render costed me so much trouble, i am making backup of everything i cant afford to lose is there a realistic chance of failure here with my drive i have posted screenshot of drive stats on my last reply, and anyway to test the ssd for possible approaching failure ?

basically, you eliminate it as an option by using another drive - even a spare shitty mech drive, or booting from a USB live linux install

eliminate bits of hardware one by one, and see what helps

Motherboard: Asus P8Z77-V-VLX2 manual
RAM config: 2x 4gb 1333mhz ram (1 corsair value and kingston) + 1x 8gb Kingston Hyperx 1866mhz

Hi I am new here - fresh from the press and just saw this post.. and am more or less amazed that no one has mentioned yet that it is not a good idea to mix and match DDR3 Ram memory (nor any mem for that matter) from different vendors. According to the motherboard user manual which states the following on page 1-8 :
Always install DIMMs with the same CAS latency. For optimum compatibility, we recommend that you obtain memory modules from the same vendor.

I am pretty sure this would solve (part of) your problem. Good Luck! << end of amazement

you can totally mix and match DDR ram any way you like, you'll get some performance loss if you do things really badly (single channel, etc) but it wont cause issues like the OP is having

i did the swap as mentioned in last update and updated my windows fully to sp2 now today i just ran into a Critical issue my pc hangs and freezes completely and it does so repeatedly after 10-15 of reboot i have swapped the ram back and issue is still here....
Does your Motherboard manual tell you to populate slots 1 and 3 first for dual channel?
If so then the layout should be 4,4,8.
This sounds like a Ram error to me, test one stick at a time to find the faulty one.

so i have a strange issue since my last fix for pc were i changed my motherboard from intel dh61ww [H61] to a asus P8Z77-V-VLX2
and bus speed from first screenshot 103 MHz

and nobody want to see this as a problem for this
(2) = all my game launchers work terribly or not at all this wasn't the case before upgrade example = steam takes 5 mins to open when i close it but not when i restart and or delete temp folder and start steam origin just crashes half the time and 100% of the time pc starts, i cant even install battlenet at all it hangs half way through download, i reinstalled win7

mismatched ram isn't an issue since it works with default timings and speed (look at the 686 in screenshots) adjusted by 103 BCLK

My suggestion - lower BCLK to default 100 MHz.

A number of people have already suggested removing overclocks.
