Is there ANY way to set my refresh rate above 60hz in Crysis in Vista 32bit on my HD4870? Crysis warhead works when i use refreshlock but nothing seems to work for Crysis? Anyone know anything I can do to fix this?

Have you ever tried PowerStrip or sth like that? In that program you can define different settings of resolution/refresh rate and so on for different programs/games.

You try setting it in the CCC? Turn Vsynch off?

iv tried every refresh rate locker i can find, including power strip, no matter what settings i change in CCC it still reverts back to 60hz fullscreen.

Does it do it in all games, or just Crysis? You may have to look in the config file of Crysis and see if you can change it or something.

YES!!!! After about 2 days of looking online I finally somehow got Power Strip to get it saved at 1280x1024@100hz or 1600x1200@85Hz. I might be wrong but I think Powerstrip works where all others failed because either it has a slightly different refresh timings or is at a deeper level in the OS. Anyways, I'm happy and can now finally enjoy Crysis for the first time :D :toast:

I dont know of many machines that can get 60fps on average in Crysis anyway. I suggest turning Vsync on and leave it at 60hz for Crysis so you don't get as much screen tearing.

How did you get 60fps? Maybe if you can get me to get 60fps I can figure out how to turn it off :laugh:

He is on a CRT, he isn't worried about the framerate. He could be getting 15FPS, it doesn't matter. The refresh rate of 75 on a CRT would still mean less flickering, and hence less likely hood of a headache.

Yeah that. The refresh rate is VERY important on a CRT. I keep it as high as it will go on my Trinitron on my backup machine.

*Update edit *

Powerstrip seems to work but not at first, for example, i start the game running at 1280x1024 but it starts at 60hz, i change the resolution to 1600x1200, and it goes to the correct refresh rate 85hz, then i change it back to 1280x1024 and it "might" go to 100hz, if not i repeat the process until it does. seems to work after the 2nd or 3rd time, it sucks but its the only thing that has worked so far.
Im getting right at 30-35FPS at 1280x1024 everything on Very high, no AA. is that normal for a system like mine?

is my sig not showing up? System -> C2D 3.8Ghz, 4GB PC1066, 4870 stock
