Having issues with my game stuttering at times while playing Apex. My frames almost never drop below 165 but I get skips periodically. I have a 165 hz monitor, a NVIDIA GeForce 2080 TI, and an i9-9900K CPU. I should have 0 issues and I've tried so many things but it's till happening. Please help

Could be internet but are you using any kind of stats overlay like Rivatuner with MSI Afterburner?

It can cause stuttering issues for Apex and besure you don't have v-sync activated and please fill out System Specs because I cannot see how much memory you got if it's single or dual channel plus are you running the game off an SSD?

Wire or not doesn't tell the whole story because you can still depending on the internet technology have problems that why I went back to fiber a couple of years ago from COAX because the latency on fiber is just better and your connecting is either on or off nothing really in between and if there is a issue it's one or two things the fiber box or your router that's used on fiber it's rarely a central problem.

may be unrelated, but phantom 4s is a bad choice for 9900k
aio cooler and a low noise-oriented/airflow restricted case only makes it worse
plus you've got a 2080Ti in that case

you sure you're not vrm throttling ?

You running a i9-9900K on that board? Can you check the VRM underload because the sad little heatsink looks like it could need some direct cooling since you don't have any airflow around the VRM using a AIO.

I am thinking if you don't have enough airflow the board might struggle to keep up because the VRM heats up.

AsRock isn't known for a really good power stages on their cheaper boards, this was why when I brought my B450 board for my AMD Ryzen 9 3900X at the time I choose the MSI B450 Gaming Pro Carbon because of it's VRM and cooling and if I ever think it gets too hot with a AIO I just find a fan problem solved.

may be unrelated, but phantom 4s is a bad choice for 9900k

That's my thoughts as well.

the grey blocks around your cpu (cooler) and the black cooler behind that-direction usb ports.
if this gets too warm your throttling. so try with a small fan over it.

fans on watercooler are blowing air out of case ?

thats a reference cooler for your gpu? what temps ya have under load?

Ok there was a plate with tiny slots for ventilation on the top so I took that off, so that could help and yes they are blowing out. And idk temp, have to check.

too much power draw from the cpu for your board

and this setup is pretty awful tbh cooling wise

the board is not enough for 9900k
the case is too restrictive for air,and on top of that you've a 240mm aio uder the case shroud which prevents any air from being exhausted

Hi,
Even though that HDD is 7200 rpm I would not use it for game play
Blue is best for backup not constant access pretty much why it's half the cost of Black series.
