2 weeks ago, i started experiencing screen tearing for no reason and never had it before.
Ive tried a couple of things:
adaptive vsync
multiple fps cappers
vsync on (which causes stutter so its unplayable)
triple buffering.
updating drivers

The only option that seems to work is playing in windowed but i rather not.Screen tearing started occuring in-game only, and as i said ive never had it before only now so i dont think its a monitor problem.
Everything is up to date and working normally.I know some of you may thing this is not that big of a problem but this is pretty severe.
my specs:
(Laptop)
Intel(R) HD Graphics 5500
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 950M 4GB
8GB ram
Windows 10
all i can tell about the display is that its 1920x1080 and 60hz

Do you have Fast Sync on that 950M ? if so, activate it. Also check at what refresh rate is that monitor set in Windows.

So you have no means of setting it 75 or higher.

Is this the built in screen of the laptop or an external monitor you are saying?

Being a laptop you will have a custom graphics driver from the manufacturer so it can route graphics info through the 950.

You will need to use their driver.

By the way do you notice tearing in just one game or several?

I notice it in most of the games but i dont see it in csgo (no vsync)

So you mean there is nothing i can do about it ?

and by the way, i started noticing screen tearing (its just a guess but im not sure about it) after a bluescreen when my display driver stopped working correctly and i had to update it (after the bluescreen my brightness was always 100% after that and i couldnt change it until i updated my driver) (as i said its just a guess im not sure if thats the reason and i dont think it really is because updating the display driver fixed the brightness problem)

As @eidairaman1 pointed out you will need to use the latest driver from the manufacturer. Download graphics driver from manufacturer, Run DDU and after reboot reinstall proper driver and see if that fixes your problems.

Edit what laptop is it? Who made it? Asus? MSI? Cyberpower?

i couldnt find the drivers i need, can i just uninstall it with DDU and install it back when i get to the Device Manager?

i dont have a lot of experience with uninstalling drivers, i guess nothing bad happens if i uninstall the display driver right?

i also tried to roll back to the other version of the display driver i had but it doesnt let me to.

so i got:
model: SATELLITE P50-C-11V
Serial No. 7F134246C
Part No. PSPTSE-00J00JTE

after i ran Dxdiag i saw that at "current display mode: 1920x1080 *32bit* 60hz"
does that have anything to do with it ?

and do i really have to uninstall the driver first? can i update it to this istead? (i dont really know what to do after uninstalling the driver and i dont want to mess up)

i could update from my pc manually after downloading it so i dont see why would i need to use DDU when i can just replace it

is it the nvidia one?

Because you are removing the Nvidia graphics driver package. It will cause conflicts with the Toshiba packaged driver. Always better to start with clean slate, in my opinion.
Yes the gtx 950M

DDU is pretty much straight forward and easy to use.

one more question, if i also press on "clean and restart" as shown in the video, it wouldnt affect anything else ( it would delete all drivers? )

i hope im not done, because nothing has changed.I tried some games and its the same screen tearing (everything went alright i have done everything correctly i also checked the driver and is now at a newer version) so i guess im open to other suggestions. (in a week or two i think im going to give my laptop to someone who repairs laptops/computers and ask him if he can fix it or if i should buy a new screen)

do i have to install the driver from the manufacturer? it looks like its a older version than the one i have now
