Hi guys, I'd like to give to my pc an upgrade. This is my actually configuration:

i5 3570K @ 4Ghz - Noctua ND-H15
MSI GD65 Gaming
8GB Corsair Vengeance @ 1866 Mhz
Asus GTX 670 DCII
WD 500 GB 7200rpm
Antec - HCG-750M
HAF 922

First of all, I do play games at 1080p so I don't mind about 4K so with this upgrade I'd like to be able to play all the games at least at medium settings and Full HD. I thought about upgrading the GPU and the HDDs, putting first an SSD and then 1TB of storage.

Budget around 300€ | 414 USD.

What do you suggest me? I thought about the GTX 1060 for the GPU, I don't know the AMD universe so if there is a better solution.

Thank you.

I wouldn't worry too much of the HDD, Throw your money were you would like, but i would start with another 8GB of ram for a total of 16GB. Then i would look at a graphics card, a 1060 is not a bad choice. I would put the SSD as the 3rd option if you had money left over. And finally, to really pimp out your pc, the most useful item, COSMOS desktop computer ATX/MATX companion, blank drawer rack (5.25")

Does nothing but give you storage space in your pc for External hard drive, thumb drive, cables, ect.

Hi, thank you for the fast answer. Adding more RAM? but I see how slow my PC is during the loadings, shouldn't I buy an SSD as well?

About the combo MOBO+CPU, do you think I can use them for some other 2 years?

Edit: Found this: CORSAIR SSD 60 GB Serie Force LS 2.5" Interfaccia Sata III 6 Gb / s Stand Alone for 53 $ USD. Any review?

I got a i5 3570k too and it can even handle a gtx 1080 in my case. got 24gb ram so 16gb would be my suggestion too. SSD for OS and heavy games would be a nice bonus to your rig.

Awesome news. Thank you. Any suggestion for a good SSD? Around 60 GB? I’d install there just the SO and the adobe suit.

I would at least get a 120GB SSD (preferably larger so you could store some more games on it), I'd say Samsung.

So, you have 330 eur, that you want to throw at something :). Looking at your specs, I would say buy only SSD and save the cash. Do you use your PC for work? Any noticeable area you feel you need upgrade? Nvidia completely abandoned GTX6xxx series. Like really abandoned. I got a 2nd hand GTX970 for 114 pounds from Ebay.co.uk. Not the greatest deal I guess, but not the worst right now. I don't see a reason to buy an SSD less than 256GB- 275GB. Crucial is your bet. Don't bother with 60GB and so.

GTX 970 vs 1060; what are the main differences?
lower TDP, better perfomance and consumption, also newer instructions architecture, moar power, GTX 1060 is newer, GTX 970 still a pretty efficient and decent video card, can be found used for cheap,

Mmh trying to compensate all of this made me think to a good GTX 1050Ti well overclocked. The cheapest GTX 1060 I found is a mini EVGA 3GB for 240 Eur. I found later this ones:

Gigabyte GTX 1050 TI N105TOC-4GD 4096MB - 175 Eur
MSI GTX 1050 TI Gaming X 4G 4096MB - 173 Eur

I'd like to look for the new gens tho, 970 totally excluded. Price is crazy here.

What do you think?

One of my kids has a 750 TI which is several generations older than the 1050 TI, and from experience I can tell you that the 750 TI is a very capable video card. I can only imagine with the 4 GB of vram, and the enhanced performance ,the 1050 ITI would be very capable( at 1080p), anything higher and you be pushing it as far as gaming or that type of work

id hazard a guess that a 1050ti would (roughly) run around 20-30FPS less than what a 970/980 would , but obviously that would depend on title. but Im confident that estimate wouldnt be TOO far off.

I was looking for New Brand card not used. I'll give a chance to ebay.

Point of the situation:

GTX 970 or 1060
SSD 256GB up.

Right?

Edit: Which brand and edition is the best for the GTX 1060 3GB vers.?

GTX 1060 is only worth when gatting the 6GB variant, 3Gb is way weak for some games like GTA V, cod and Battlefield as it have seen in some reviews, we strongly recomend you to get 6GB variant, if not possible give a try to the wide used market, you can get results with a GTX 970 / 980 used that paying hihg for less performance

SSD 256GB up.
dunno what to say, i have a 64GB crucial m4 drive, but a 128GB one will be great, SSD is meant for OS and some important programs and apps, games, music and personal data could be stored in your HDD.

Okay guys, so deal for the GTX 1060 3GB, will be the first buy, then SSD and later I will expand my memory to 16GB. This will give me two years more of gaming at Full HD?

Okay guys, so deal for the GTX 1060 3GB, will be the first buy, then SSD and later I will expand my memory to 16GB. This will give me two years more of gaming at Full HD?

Get the GPU 1st, the RAM 2nd and the SSD should be the last thing as it doesnt improve your gaming performance whereas the GPU and RAM will, although it will make your PC feel snappier and startup 4x quicker than that slow HDD you have.
