Not a new idea, they had this a while back

It's a shame they don't show you swiping your credit card to the tune of a few $1,000.00 of dollars.

Currently in Oz (the land down under) some car battery replacements costs are approx $8,000.00

Lithium is not the answer. And Li-Pos are dangerous AF. The chemistry has to change.

what about lifepo? seems pretty safe to me!

all three major electric car makers here i the us already offer it (Tesla, Ford, vw), and it wont self-ignite nor get stressed-out over overcharging (i.e when you charge li ion over 80% for road trips)

Battery swapping is never going to happen in any kind of mainstream way. In modern regular sized EV the battery is a structural part of the vehicle so you can't just swap it out. Its also a very substantial part of vehicles value so for that reason its pretty much intrinsically linked to the rest of the vehicle.

Too small a car for the American market. People here want the biggest car they can afford. Hell, the F-150 Pickup truck is the most popular car sold here year after year. Then those people have a fit when the price of gas goes up 25%. They blame the president like he's the one increasing the prices for the oil companies or started a war with Russia that impacts the price of oil world-wide.
