Okay so, I'm not complaining about my Thermaltake RX-1, its been a loyal case. But I think it is time for me to mix things up. I'm tied here. Between a Zalman Z11 NEO, the Sharkoon BW9000-W, or an NZXT Gamma Classic Black. What do y'all think?

Agreed, the amount of plastic on the other cases just look gaudy

Links would have been nice.

I like my front panel buttons and USB and audio ports up top and in front as my case sits in a slot near the floor under my desk. So I don't want to have to reach back into the slot and hope I am pressing the right button or getting the USB 3.0 instead of the 2.0 port, or headphone instead of mic. Nor do I want to break my back bending over or get on my hands and knees just to see what I am plugging in to for cases that don't have those buttons and ports on top.

So the Zalman and NZXT are out. Also I cannot see where the NZXT has removable, washable air filters so that would rule that out for me too. Plus that case seems to no longer be in production as it is not listed on NZXT's website.

So that leaves the Sharktoon. It has top/front switches and ports, removable/washable air filters, it comes with 2 x 140mm and 1 x 120mm fans and more. So if those were the only three case I could choose from it would be the Sharktoon - as long as it was the black version. I think the white version looks cheap, and will look dingy over time.

That said, I like Fractal Design. So I would go for the R4 or R5.

I know its not on your list and probably a little high in price but last week I fell in love with this case. The Corsair Graphite 760T

But if your on a budget do yourself a favor and get a Fractal R5

I have 3 spare Noctua fans, I don't have a radiator because I'm on air cooling, my PSU should fit. I am pretty sold on it, the front lighting thing really got my attention, also planning on getting some Yellow LED strips.

Well, the non-removable filters kill it for me. Plus pretty lights do nothing for performance, add some heat, consume some power, and do nothing for performance (worth repeating). Plus, I tend to pay attention to what's on my monitors and prefer my casees to sit quietly and discreetly off to the side and not draw attention to themselves. But that's just me. To each his own.

I will say it appears to be well made and offers decent cooling options. I am sure it will adequately cool and protect the components inside - which of course, are the main jobs of any computer case.

worthless....thats it ...
fucking lol at fixed air filters, what is even the point. It'd be easier to clean the components of dust than gunked up filters (which are probably barricaded by drivebays and other shit...)

its not about just cleaning, dust tends to keep heat or raise temps... also sticks over all hardware... mostly fan blades, also might get into joints, and fan bearings.... i just dont like it... thats why we seek for cases or reviews about dust and dust filters of a specific case... also the fact that the PSU has limited space can be translated to a hard time on cable management, also the same for airflow, tight space between parts may block airflow...

Yea i understand, I really think removable air filters should be a standard by now... But apparently it is not.

Edit: But what do i know :D, i havent used closed cases in years, i only use open air cases/test benches these days with an external radiator. My actual computer parts have no fans blowing on them so there's not much dust actually.

pretty hard to establish a standard on most computer things related parts... such cables, connectors, and mostly air-filters...and plenty moar things...

Bingo!

"Equipped with removable dustfilters"

There seems to be a lot of room for the power supply, as for the rest im pretty confident its a all around good case from what ive heard. Havent looked at reviews though.

I'm not necessarily concerned with the fixed dust filters because I live in a fairly clean room, my case now is sitting on my dresser right next to my desk, off the floor and raised up a bit.

How do you feel about open air cases or test benches? They can look pretty cool if you ask me :D

I have entertained the idea, I just don't think its my style. Again, I saw the Aerocool and I thought "I must have this." Bill said it earlier, to each their own.

well there's not much to it compared to normal cases, only that you really shouldnt have it on the floor lol

They're great for air AND water, especially because you can mount CLC rads on the fan brackets. Or you can do what i did and just have a large 1080 standing on the side of it

That's entertaining haha. I am thinking of selling my 470, and with that money buy a Nano/Fury something.
