switching to water coloing. what to buy

Hey ive been thinking of switching to water cooling for quite some time now, and ive seen 2 water cooling kits that catch my attention.

2. Asetek Waterchill Xternal water cooling kit

Both of these are great water cooling kits and i cant decide which to buy. i really dont care if its a external or internal cooling kit, so if you have other sigestions for a water cooling kit please answer. so far im leaning to the bigwater thx

go custom - do it once, do it right.

between those two choices id go with the assetek kit personally.

I wouldnt go thermaltake 745 kit, heavy, well yea godo cooling but just a huge mess in a way, external rads everything.

first off: what are your goals with watercooling?

wat i wanta do with the watercooling is get rid of the loud noise from my x1800 xt and the other bazillion fasn in my pc. i want to overclock the x1800 xt as far as possible and my amd 3800 x2 to about 2.7Ghz. i dont necessarily need a kit for watercooling but i just want the one of the best setups, even if u buy everything seperately.

Well I personally would get a fan controller, dim out all that noise, get a tidewater for your vga card, give it a good clock, best air cooler for your cpu, so you dont have to spend that much money. But if you want to spend alot of money on one, how much can you spend?

now would that be batter than the thermaltake bigwater745? and it says the vga cooler supports all nvidia and ati graphic agp cards. i have a pci express

Yes its way better then the 745, and that block should work with your vid card.... your vid card have 4 holes aroudn the core, if so thats your "kit" set up

screw the kit. there's no substitute for a couple hours research into watercooling. if you want to go the high performance route then a custom loop will outperform anything you can overspend for through newegg. or if you want a budget setup just to eliminate some noise you'll make out much better if you plan out an inexpensive setup and assemble it yourself. i think overclockers.com had an article on cheap watercooling recently that might be worth checking out.

I agree, custom setups are much better. There ARE some good kits out there though, such as: Swiftech, Asetek, Alphacool, etc.

Its 1 step up from junk. If you buy a mass market cheap kit it will work mabye as good as air cooling.

I bought some really good stuff from Danger Den, Swiftech, Hydor L35, CoolRad and Tygon.

All of it was about $225. That is a huge difference from what you are talking about. But when I am done it will be great. If you need to see picts check out my project log,
