i've been playing weekend beta and graphics are dissapointing when compared to other modern games. some people in the chat there like the graphics but those are on cards like geforce gt 220

the game is decent, i think i'm going to buy it, but i doubt i'll play for more than 1 or 2 months

The problem you are having is because you are comparing MMO graphics to other current games. Only MMO that has ever impressed me graphics wise was AoC, anything else hasn't been very impressive. I think for the artstyle TOR is going with, they hit the nail on the head, it seems to line up a bit with how the KOTOR series looked, it has decent lighting, a good amount of flora, and still some great visuals of buildings, and feel of the lore. It for sure isn't a game thats going to push computers, but I've seen a few "breath taking" scenes in my time playing.

But you have played WoW, so I'm confused why you would compare MMO graphics to other games, it just brings me back to my feeling about GTA. It's all about quantity, and to get there it usually means cut back on the graphics.

The graphics look good for an MMO, at least to me.
The only MMO that's ever looked amazing was/is EverQuest 2, when you crank up all the eye candy.

ive played the beta several weekends now, the game is OK, solid graphics that seem to scale well (played on two computers), but i'll pass on the game when it comes out.

I've been stuck at the loading screen for hours now, and that appearently means I'm in a que. Blergh!

Yeah it's kinda nice. And oh, if you're having troble connecting after choosing a server, this thing worked very nicely.

t tries to load you into the server you had selected previously, so if thats got a long queue then you'll be stuck there quite some time, there is a way round it, when you click 'Play' on the launcher, immediately pull out your Ethernet cable from the router, you should soon be at a blank server list, plug it back in and wait for a short while and the server list will re-appear and you can select the server you wish.

I'm anxious to see how it is once you reach level 10+, but I really need some sleep. It's working though, playing at max settings and it runs flawless. Sometimes there is graphical glitches and when those occur it slows down, but that mostly happens during dialouges.

And I really do not like that blasted dialouge wheel. It's just awful.

It means you haven't played FFXIV, the graphics in the game as well as the requirements are outrageous.

Played it, I'm not saying others don't have good graphics, Vanguard and Aion both have their moments as well. But AoC is already 3.5 years old and still looks great, when that came out it was just extremely impressive. I also hate asian art styles, they use horrible fonts (doesn't fit with the game), heath bars (once again don't fit), the UI in genereal disconnects me from the game and the monsters make no sense. It's why I didn't play much of it.

Eve's a good looking game, but without terrain to rended, making a great looking star background and good looking ship just aren't hard things to do. Not enough rendered to compare with other MMOs.
