System does not boot - post code 53

Hello everyone,

I've assembled my new PC today, but unfortunately it fails to boot

Asus ROG Strix X99 Gaming


What is working:
· All of the fans
· HDDs

What is not working:
· Nothing on screen
· Stuck at post code 53
· Chassis power button

I am pretty sure I plugged everything correctly.
How do I debug this?

What I tried so far:
· Booting without the GPU installed
· Booting with just 1 stick of RAM, in different slots
- The XMP switch on board

Set your Ram manually, that is a memory error. Try with one stick of Ram if you have to to get started. Maybe it just needs reseating.

What exactly do you mean by that?
I did try to post with just 1 stick of RAM, but same issue.

List all your hardware and we will attempt to figure it out from there. CPU and RAM and Video card ext.

Motherboard: Asus ROG STRIX X99 GAMING
Graphics Card: Gigabyte GTX1070 Xtreme
RAM: 2x8GB G.Skill TridentZ RGB (2,400 Mhz)

Update bios to the latest...

Is there a MEM OK button on that board? Use it..

If not, set xmp in the bios, and before saving, manually set System Agent (SA) and VccIO voltage .1 over what its reading in the bios.

Not sure where that is... get familiar with your bios.

your mainboard could have a older bios then what it needs for 2699v4 which is bios 1701.

you can flash with:
http://event.asus.com/2012/mb/USB_BIOS_Flashback_GUIDE/

there is a sticker in between cpu and your right ram slots and the last 4 digits is your current bios version

Well then.. Turns out it really was the RAM.
Apparently there is a "working configuration" setup, that will only boot if placed in the specific places. Who knew.. First time dealing with X99, guess RTFM really is important
