[US] T-Mobile Is Giving People A Free Hotspot To Test Drive Its Network

They had a similar deal in 2014, looks like its good for non-tmobile customers.

As part of the new offering, those who are curious about T-Mobile simply need to head to a T-Mobile store or go to T-Mobile's Test Drive website and request a hotspot. There is no cost and the company isn't asking for a credit card or credit check. The carrier is just asking for your name, phone number, home address and email, which T-Mobile says it won't use for marketing purposes.

When you're done with the hotspot, which will stop working once the 30 days are up or once you hit the 30GB cap (whichever comes first), you can return it to a T-Mobile store, give it to a friend -- who can request a different SIM card and start a separate test -- or just keep it.

The hotspot is a Coolpad Surf, a no-frills 4G LTE hotspot that regularly retails for $72. While lacking in features like a screen, it does support T-Mobile's low-band 600MHz spectrum designed for wider coverage and better support in buildings.

Wonder how many they will give out. I just recently bought one my boys the 3 months of mint mobile to try tmobile service out in my area for 30$ for 3 months/ 8gb a month. I wonder what the top speed in my area with this hotspot will be.

If you dont like the deal no problem! no replies needed :)

Yeeeaaaaaaaah... They totally wont sell your data to other companies. I totally trust them. Just the same way i get calls from companies not asking but TELLING me that ive recently been in a car accident... The only people that had that info was my insurance company.

Selling your data is big big big ol' monehs - they say they wont but they will... they just wont tell you. In any case if you get marketing phone calls, They arent gonna disclose where they got your details from

I’m trying it. My order was confirmed. Want to see it how well it performs. My current service coverage sucks major ass no matter where I am which is bad as my business requires internet access all day.

got my two hotspots last week, working great! used my po box's so they dont know real address or name, along with a VPN anyway's. Sad part is tmobile is only great in the big cities still it seems, testing these out and in the country side verizon still wins.

Wait so no string attached? (well besides shelling out your address and phone number)

How's the speed you are getting?

T-Mobile is the only carrier I'd trust with a claim like that. But barely. I'm still suspicious.

i dont understand the comment but att offers 35$ a month hotspot plan that is purely unlimited, *in the countryside here its slow during the day and crazy fast at night but in the big city its 50-150mbit.

I tried signing up again but it said I’ve already registered before but the device never made it. Was stolen in transit

I'd give them a phone call if you really care.
