HURRAY, we've got tables back again! It's been a long time... (since embedded HTML was disabled).

I looked it up.

Using this you can sort. 1, is the column number, ie the first column in this case. The added "d" sets it to descending, default is ascending.

Using this you can just add values at the bottom and it'll be sorted automatically. Sorting is case sensitive, so make sure everything is either lowercase or uppercase.

Ok, I'm having trouble making this work, can someone give me an example of how to use this?

Edit:
im trying to use the auto number feature by putting autonum=1 in the table header. like so
and that bit works it will auto number the table but my old numbers are still there, is there away to get rid of the old numbers without having to go delete them all?
Use this table for example.

Autonumber is a separate column. Basically you have to remove your own column.

Grrr, I was hoping to avoid that. :ohwell: Well thanks again, I guess I have lot of deleting to do.

He said he wouldn't mind me taking it over. But I'm far too lazy to do that.

Ah I know the feeling, sometimes I have to force my self to update the 3dmark threads but with the new auto number functions it should be less tedious. :)

Ok need some help here again! :(

Ok so I have the auto number and the descending fromat to where its working in the 3d06 thread, no problems there. However when I use the same Table heading for the Vantage thread it does not work? I'm inclined to think its because the scores in the vantage thread start with a P and that why it wont list them in descending order.

Example: Vantage thread,

Works fine, remove the P. You can't mix the various scores anyway, so they're all P, X or whatever.
Also, move the verification url to another column. Sorting on the URL is a bad idea.

Try writing the scores as 23278P rather than P23278 to see if there is a bug in the sort algorithm.

^^Dan beat me to it, but still try with the "P" at the end.

PS. It might also be sorting on your LINK, not on the data. Make sure you set up the data and link correctly.

Jon, look at the values in the score column, those aren't numbers, you're adding a "P", the value changes from a quantity, to a string.

okay double beaten. whetever they said. I suggest instead of writing scores as P12345, X1234, create a new column for mentioning if it's P (performance) or X (eXtreme), and keep the scores as pure quantities.

Alphanumeric sorting works. And if I click on your table, I can also sort by "Pxxxxx". The only problem is that you might need to add a precending 0 at the front of numbers <10000 so that the length of all scores is the same, otherwise P500 >P4999.

So if it works manually, then it should work with the autosort feature, unless there is a BUG. Either programatically, or in your table setup.

Great ok thanks guys that's what I was thinking! Ill just remove the P from the scores, I was thinking about adding other tables for X as well anyway.

But why should I remove the verification link Dan?

nice example, see, alphanumeric failed to sort (well), while numalpha did, wanna know why?

In ASCII, the digits 0~9 come before characters A~Z. So when you're making it sort alph-num, you're placing characters from the ASCII that are after the digits, before them. I hope I'm clear.
