I have got a chance to swap my 4gigs of 800mhz kingmax ram for 2x1 gb of takems mach2 1066mhz memory. Is that memory good for overclock?I've read some reviews and i wasn't quite impressed.Did anyone had any experience with it?What do you suggest? Thanks.

if you are looking to get good clocks on that gigabyte mobo, I suggest you stick to the supported/tested memory found in a list at their site.

Also you will be dropping capacity which should allow for better clocks, but if the reviews are turning you off of that ram, follow your gut feeling.

4 gigs of 800mhz is better than 2 gigs og 1066 any day, theres little in the speed difference performance wise except in benches and you will notice the diff with 2 gigs less, anyway that 800 mem shouldnt be holding you back you can run at least 400fsb with it, why would you even consider, you wont get anywhere near 533 fsb on a quad anyways ? :slap:

I don't know the numbers about 800MHz vs 1066MHz... but it's not big, maybe not even noticeable on every day use.

I think he wants to get more gigs for his rig... And he knows that the performance will be better with 4gb 800 than 2gb 1066.

I have 2 gigs my self and I just ordered a 4gb kit... But it was a great deal of 1066Mhz kit.
