This has been quite the eventfull year when it comes to tech! with a lot of revolutionary instead of the usual more evolutionary new technologies.
Lots of new stuff like G-Sync, Mantle, true audio, Apples 64bit ARM chips, new consoles, Haswell and the list goes on, with many of those things breaking tradition in one way or the other.
I'd say that the days of the personal computer in the traditional sense that started going mainstream somewhere in the 80ies is now truly coming to an end, with only the people deliberately choosing a desktop as their computing device of choice still using one.

While some recent developments might spell trouble for us tech enthousiast, imho there are still many new exiting things ahead worth looking out for.

Best wishes to you all people! and lets hope the new year brings a lot of new tech goodies for all of us

And despite all this tech evolution, clock for clock our CPU's are ony 15-20% faster than they were 4 years ago!

Yeah lol, one wonders which factor contributes more to this decline in performance increase: Lack of competition in the high end(and the resulting increased focus on poweruse) or technologies hitting a wall.

Still I suppose one cannot complain too much. The price per "performance unit" still drops steadily, and only recently is proper multithreading starting to be the norm, increasing the effective computational power of ones multicore CPU's past their original.
