Almost bit the bullet to build a blue team rig coming from amd since the a64 days.

I have the funds and atm, but I'm holding off til the different board choices are available here. Plus the prices here seem to inflate. We only have them ryzen chips sold as a bundle due to limited stock and they're bundled with MSI B350 and X370 boards.

For now my 8350 does what I need it to do.

My i7 5820K @ 4.4Ghz and GTX 1070 will do for now in my computer. but i am upgrading for my sister and a Ryzen 1700X and a GTX 1060 6GB will probably be the choice there.

Hard to say yet. We haven't even seen best case scenario Ryzen gaming benches yet, because there's a glitch in AM4 MB's being limited to 2400 - 2600 RAM speed. I'm also curious as to why AMD is setting even their upcoming X1500 quad core speed so low.

There's too many unknowns so far. The biggest question is how many games, especially AAA titles, will be 8 threaded in the next 3 years. If we all knew that, the choice would be easy, right now anyway. For all we know, Intel may find a way to make more affordable 8 core chips.

If you were really interested in apologizing and censoring yourself, you'd go back and edit the passive aggressive insults you made in post # 20 where you accused players whom game at 1080p (which is still the vast majority of them) of being poor, mentally ill, idiots.

Since this thread is mostly about a new CPU, there are several other threads to discuss it. This tech forum, and most others I know of don't encourage these kind of general manufacturer loyalty threads.
