The team behind several mod chips for both the Xbox and the Playstation 2 already has an interesting new product for the Playstation 3 in the works. It is called the Hyperdrive and lets the user add an external SATA hard drive to the Playstation 3. This is great as game images take up around 18GB each, for which the internal drive is inadequate.

They are also working on a mod chip for the PS3 to allow booting of "copied" games from the external drive.
