To be more precise, the new "Like" system with reactions has caused my ratings addon to break.

I'm now undecided how to progress, since the likes system allows me to customize the buttons available, so I could just put the "+1, +2, +3, -1" buttons in there, or use various emoticons instead. Each button in the new like system can now be assigned a numeric score value.

Any thoughts?

may be add -1÷+3 buttons in like system and leave rating addon to only read them and summerize the result in top right corner of the posts as it was before

Having both reactions and numerical scores for posts seems kinda irrational for me, cause as a forum reader you just don't know what to believe in any more. Is the score representative of a post quality? Or is it the reactions to it? Let's just leave reactions and abandon numerical scores altogether.

Another reason I don't like the numerical score system is that it goes from -1 to +2 no matter how much the post has earned. It might have earned -100 or +200 however the forum will just show -1 or +2. That's twice illogical.

The thing is that the "expert" "master" badges below some peoples' posts are tied to it, and i think that is a useful feature

The score represents the rounded average, this helps to balance out things, so that people who have just one good post but 4905748597043 upvotes dont tie up the leading spots vs people who consistently are more useful

I like the new icons. Would like to keep the "+1, +2, +3, -1" as it was useful for showing additional levels of enthusiasm, as well as a level of disapproval without having to say anything unpleasant.

The numerical system mixed with enoticons would be horrible, impossible to understand and completely miss the purpose... if you do that only the angry and happy face would make some sort of sense by tying them to -1 and +1.

Needs different emoticons for the +2 and +3. A suitable alternative might be to omit the +2 and give +3 the Wow smilie. Or even better, consider a 'best answer' sort of emoticon for +3 and move the Wow smilie to +2.

Maybe a best answer icon could be a flashing light bulb?

And that still is far from ideal...

Its a median score, not an average total.

An upstream fiber provider of our hosting company had a fiber cut, which led to around five hours of downtime. Our servers were running fine all the time, just without connectivity.

Nothing we could have done

You gonna be allowed to punch people from that hosting provider as compensation?

Since that last outage I had a banner stating my email address couldn't be contacted. I was forced to change it to a different address then back again. I couldn't post, reply, send a pm until doing so.

I marked a few ppl as bounced email recently because their mails came back to my inbox. Not related to the outage

Well that's odd. I've had that email address for almost 20 years. I was receiving site emails prior to it. And still am after changing to a different address and back to the original one.

This is not a big deal but just to let you know. Sometimes I don't receive an alert when someone has quoted me and replied. It used to show up as a red number when I log on but not always anymore. If I click on alerts it's there though. The last time that it happened was here:

Ok so the forums are pretty much unusable on Opera for Android. It's by far the slowest site to load I have encountered on the tablet (Lenovo Tab4 Plus). Threads load partly, then the entire browser freezes for a few seconds until a new section of the thread is loaded. Repeat about three times per thread. Writing posts ishard because the input isn't actually shown until I've written entire sentences. Generally, intermittently it's not so bad but it often is. Any idas as to why? Chrome seem to work fine, but I really prefer Opera and it works perfectly fine elsewhere. Just not on the tpu forums.

Try Kiwi browser. You will be surprised how many good things it has on android.
