I have found that I get alerts for any thread I have replied to within around 1 - 2 months (an approximation) however if it has been any longer since I have been active in a thread I tend not to anymore despite it still showing as being watched. I think this started to happen around 6 months to a year ago, in my case a good example would be the UK Clubhouse, I have loads of posts in there but I get no alerts for it despite there being some posts made in the last week...… the last time I posted in there was May 17th.

There was some cutoff .. I think "thread not visited for 180 days".. I turned it off earlier today

I have missing notifications all of the time... pretty much always have. I don't know if it's the newness of the threads, exactly. That's more coincidental in my eyes. For me, I ALWAYS stop getting notifications if I either ignore a couple of them from a particular thread, or if it has simply been a little while since I last viewed it. That's the deciding factor.

An example... the "what are you playing" thread has always been hit or miss on notifications for me. In a matter of maybe 5 days, another page may pile up without me receiving a single notification. But then, as soon as I open the thread again and somebody posts, I see the push. And this will go on for a few days before going dark again.

Worth mentioning, it only happens with replies to the thread itself for me. If somebody quotes, tags, or reacts, it seems like I always get that notification.

This has me thinking maybe it was set up to work that way by default, to avoid people essentially being bombarded when watching many active threads at the same time. It only shows you general replies for threads that it gauges you are actively engaging in based on the data you feed it. Probably a setting that could be changed, but then I don't know it should be in that case. The only thing suspect for me is that the cutoff was supposed to be 6 months, but for me it doesn't even take a week to stop seeing the notifications.

So it looks like you won't receive notifications until you have visited the thread at least once. It seems this is by design

This feature was added with the last update, pretty useful, but keep forgetting about it, too :)

Just a curiosity thing but I thought you had to be logged in to access The Lounge forum. I just posted a video in Mike's Music Club and I noticed that there were 2 guests viewing the thread.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
This isn't so much an issue as it is a niggle...

I typically view the forums through the threads I subscribe (post) to. In other words, my landing page is watched threads first. This gives me a list of new posts from threads I am sub'd to. After clicking in a thread and reading it or replying, if I hit back on my browser the 'watched' page isn't refreshed and still shows the thread I read/posted in as 'new' (and not with my post as the latest). I know in vb, if you do that same action, the landing/watched page updates so you can go back and forth and have the pages updated as you reply.

@W1zzard Is this something that can be updated so the page refreshes when you hit 'back' on go to the watched threads? This way if there are several threads which had a response it is easier to track which ones were replied to/read and not.

I've had the same experience. I generally have been hitting F5 to refresh the page.

Went to go comment here;
when I saw this;
"You do not have permission to view this page or perform this action."
Is this a glitch or did I get blocked from the article?
