Several days ago, the Techpowerup Folding at Home (F@H) team made it into the top 200 teams in the official F@H stats. This was no small feat and was accomplished due the countless hours of CPU/GPU time donated by the team’s members. I would like to thank all of them for the time, energy, and money they have selflessly donated to this wonderful project. I encourage everyone who is able to join the team and help us reach the top 100! A list of all members who have donated CPU/GPU time to the team has been included inside the thread.

Wow that's really cool. Feels good to know I'm helping out in some way, and it also shows that the people here at TPU care about donating to a good cause.

Cold Storm: Exactly. Even though I fold for another team (TeamXPS), I applaud all efforts by anyone to join Folding@Home. It don't matter what team you're crunching for as long as you make yourself useful by helping out and contribute to Humanity. It's easy to do, doesn't cost anything if you already own a PC and your efforts are greatly appreciated by the community.

To be fair it does cost a little. I once calculated out the cost of running an average folding rig 24/7 to be around $10 per month.

My whole family has been effected by cancer. I feel ashamed now that I think about it, that I stopped in the first place.:eek::eek:
Are Nvidias cards incorporated like ATI's in folding nowadays?

I just recall the quantum leap ATI's GPU's took in folding a while back and wanted to know if Nvidia was as good at doing work units.

My PC just folding on the GPU running 24/7 costs about 20 a month.

I crank almost 5000ppd on my 8800GS when i dont game and leave it sitting.
