TechPowerup Video BIOS versions info....where are the details?

I have a Gigabyte RTX 2070 Super, and want to get a bios that allows for better overclocking- specifically to get by the temp/downclock value limitations.

However, ALL the bios versions I see available in the Video BIOS Collection have NO info on what is different between the versions.

My current version is 90.04.86.00.C5

On the site I see version 90.04.86.00.D0 available, but in the description I see nothing different.

Can anyone tell me what is different between these two versions?

Or, where can I find what I am looking for?

You're unlikely to get what you are looking for with a bios flash, frankly. I'd just stick with the conventional overclocking. What you are asking is also not something welldocumented by any means, and any difference you find will be minor and may come with other bugs.

What I do know is this: Nvidia Boost 4.0 causes my GPU to downclock by 15 MHz as soon as it hits 48C no matter what my afterburner settings are.

There has gotta be a solution out there.

There honestly isn't. Disabling boost behavior (what you are experiencing) is pretty much impossible today.

GAWD. I finally got it figured out. With Afterburner, I was using the auto curve, instead of setting my core clock manually. I now set it to +110, which results in me getting EVEN BETTER fully stable speeds than what I was aiming for initially. I now get 2025-2040MHz no problems with temps staying in the 50C range or lower! So it wasnt an Nvidia boost problem....it was user error LOL.

This isn’t exactly something that comes with a change log...

Gigabyte is indeed severely lacking in the tech support area. I've always had good luck with their hardware, but attempting to contact their tech support is an exercise in futility.

It's strange that there are zero vga bios updates on their website (at least for this card), yet techpowerup has 3 versions available.

That's because they are not updates, they are a bios for a specific card and its features.

Same thing I found out, when the fans were not rotating & asked them for a help - which I would pay.
As I didn't want to just throw away a card which works just fine.

But they just responded with sthg generic.
Do they try to employ only idiots in Gigabyte? :/

I mean I can count the number of times I've seen a changelog for a bios update on one hand, so while I do agree about GIGABYTE tech support, this isn't the strongest point to critique them on.

how do you define website? multiple brands have made private bioses available to fix specific bugs for specific users, or something like uefi vs no-uefi support that users opt-in rather than being linked to on the product page

plus, gigabyte is notorious for having revisions of hardware for sale, that automatically increases the possibility of multiple bioses per model no matter how minor the change is (could even be as simple as updating their signing certificates, resulting in a different bios on all new batches with zero noticeable volt/mhz/fan spec changes)
