Dude playing fair you do come across quite angry and just called us all dumb, some were genuinely trying to help.
Chill out a bit.
I am NOT saying that NOR DID I SAY THAT. Read.
I am commenting on the "Attitude" I get. I did not get all made and post"DUDE why are you posting this here, we covered this over here?" Then post on how it is my MO and Analise my mental state. ( or so I think).
Look, it's like having some thing new and having everyone tells you it is crap after you post up benchmarks and are proud only to have Intel FAN boys with there flagship Dual CPU Intel's telling you how shitty your BRAND NEW system is, AND that does take it's toll, eventually the will of the one you are BREAKING , Breaks and it ends up in a greasy shit show.
And just because some one has trouble doesn't mean you should say things like why are you asking here or this is his MO. It is insulting you do NOT know me nor my motives or incentives or what I think or how I think. Some people process things differently and take things differently as well.
This is why I can say I am sorry for offending you in any way, It is not NOR was NOT my intention at all. I merely want and need advice from different points and forums, If that is okay with you of-course.

Also, I'd like to know what HWiNFO64 says your Tdie temperature is on the Ryzen 7 1700. If it tells you Tctl is 91 C, then that's the +20 degree fan curve offset AMD built in to ensure effective air cooling and your Tdie is actually 71 C, which is beyond fine for an eight-core package. If it tells you Tdie is 91 C, then yes, that is a problem and you either have too much voltage into the CPU or your cooler is wholly inadequate.

Cryorig H7 wont cut for a overclocked Ryzen 7 1700.
H7 is maybe 130W-140W TDP cooler. A overclocked R7 1700 at 1.4V at 4Ghz produce about 150W-170W Thermal load, which the H7 cant dissepate as it is out of H7 capability.
To cool a overclocked R7 you need CPU cooler with atlest 180W-200W TDP with flat contact surface.

You can get it from www.hwinfo.com if you're still looking. If you get the installer for version 6.04, run it in sensor mode, look for the icon in your tray, click it, then find the section with your CPU. Tdie is what you want, as this is the actual package temperature. It'll look like this.

Benchmark Scores Faster than yours... I'd bet on it. :)
LMAO. Yeah I call them shit ,That's why I own 3 AMD systems, NO YOU call them shit , slow and things like that trying to always knock them down against Intel's Always AND I MEAN always posting Intel's faster than your AMD CPU score IN EVERYTHING. (I know you will not understand what I am saying here as well.) Then after all that bashing I get totally pissed and concede to YOUR will and talk the way talk about it and this some how surprises you? For know it all's you all are really dumb.
I Can post where I want and get different views and opinions and even others that may NOT be there HERE. Plus I do not get email notifications and alerts like I do from this forum.
You know?
So with "THIS Dude" it is what it is like it or stop posting in my threads? It is like a personal attract really, A micro aggression and a bully tactic designed to point out I am stupid and unless I meat your expetiez then I am shit.. So I can't post what I want where I want? I can not talk about things unless you YOUR glorious all knowing know it all say's it is okay?
And you wonder why I leave?

IT IS BECAUSE OF YOU!

Any way I do understand a bit better from the people here now that there is a lot more to this "heat" than I thought and for that I thank you.
I will need some better cooling for sure And yes I do run it at 4.0GHz 1.38 Vcore this does get hot when fully loaded (85c) but it could be because I have topped out the HSf or even poor sensors and things built in that are making it read higher to prevent morons like me from burnning a house down. And could also be just the way it runs no biggie really I can live with it if the CPU can LOL.
Easy! Nobody is saying where you can or cannot post. I was just sharing with TPU what was explained already at OCF when it was discussed a week ago. I am a bit surprised (not really, this is your MO) to see the same thing posted again, even though you said you understood already last week. It's literally like it never happened...........o_O

some were genuinely trying to help.
We did... then, groundhog day... and you all did too! :p

*Wipes hands...

Be aware I had an absolute cherry picked AMD ryzen 1800X (got it when I complained about the linux performance "marginality" thing loud enough as an editor here, and made an RMA, aparently AMD took interest in making it right) and it never beat 4.1 GHz. To this day I have never seen a faster first gen, and I have airflow from servers and bitcoin miners that literally screams so loud it must be isolated from people.

You reach very strong diminishing returns over stock with Ryzen. They are unlocked yes, but not great OCers.

Okay I found it. It says (I think) 42.4c was max ( probably when checking the system) I will run a test with this on see what temps I get and post up.

Micro-aggression. Personal attack. Thanks for the Friday laughs. No one was saying you can't post wherever you feel. Go do your thing bro. Perhaps I just read your posts as aggressive and shouting everyone down - at least in most of the posts I have seen from you. That may well be on me. But I didn't personally attack you, and I certainly don't know what micro-aggression you're talking about there, PC Principal. You did just call us all really dumb, though.

Here's some info you may find helpful:

1.PNG
2.PNG
3.PNG

Above, clocks, vcore, and various other temp/sensor readings after extended gaming session (only Apex Legends, but it'll do). Like I previously said, I did about a 20 minute render in Resolve last night, I live in a warm climate - ambient was down to ~25 when I was doing the render though. My 1700 under the H105 peaked at 72°C and hovered around the 70 mark until the render was done.

I decided to replicate the render, re-rendering the same file in Resolve for you to see temps. This is pretty much a maxed-out CPU load. Note the wattage of CPU+SoC and the temps below:

7.PNG

4.PNG

5.PNG

6.PNG

All CPUs are different, yours may need more vcore to push 4.0GHz, which will lead to more heat. You need a beefier cooler, and some decent TIM to get good temps on these CPUs. A decent 240 or 280mm cooler like a Corsair H115i or one of the others on the market will be great, or you need a big tower cooler like a Noctua NH-U12A/S.

I hope that is a useful comparison... Not sure what else to say.

Thanks for playing.

Okay there it is, Now what do you think? AM I CRAZY!!!!! Do not answer that.
I think I need some cooling that can handle the R7. This is topping out on a simple benchmark, Can't imagine what Line pack would do! Jesus thing would catch fire.

Well I can see that at a 40 mult allcore. As I said that's actually probably about as far as you will get with good cooling. Don't expect mirracles.

No miricals just better cooling and the,
Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans
Seems to be the best cooler on the market for Air.

So I am looking for one now. Ebay...
THe MB is listed in my sig. MSI X470 Gaming Plus.

Just ordered the
Noctua NH-D15, Premium CPU Cooler with 2x NF-A15 PWM 140mm Fans
will be here this coming week.

As soon as I have it and install it I will post my results from the test I just posted, I will do everything the same.
I am getting this Air cooler because YOU ALL say it is the BEST air cooler there is. I will let you all know just what it does for me.
Is that a deal?

Grabs coat...

Okay there it is, Now what do you think? AM I CRAZY!!!!! Do not answer that.
I think I need some cooling that can handle the R7. This is topping out on a simple benchmark, Can't imagine what Line pack would do! Jesus thing would catch fire.

Hold on. Your Tctl/Tdie sensor readings are combined here for reasons I don't know and that don't really matter.

What does matter is that HWiNFO64 is probably taking Tctl, since it's the highest temperature, and that means your Tdie max here was 68 C at 151W draw. That's pretty much in line with what I would expect from a Cryorig H7.
