Even though my Z390 AORUS in still under warranty, Gigabyte black list my motherboard serial number to avoid me to refill my warranty ticket !!!
Last weeks my motherboard refused to work with my 9700k. It is only stable with 3.6ghz stock speed. BSOD every time I turn on Intel Turbo Boost to get 9700k refereed boost clock to 4.6 ghz.
So I filled out the warranty form, manually typed my SN it showed my mainboard model in the search box, ticket submitted.
Yesterday I checked again, my ticket disappeared. Something must went wrong. Double check my SN again. "Please select exact SN for your product" ??? Literally they could find my SN in their system the last time I submitted, now my SN of motherboard is gone.
I double check warranty status of my motherboard "Your product is out warranty"
Holy cow!! I only have my mainboard for ONLY A YEAR !!! OUT OF WARRANTY ??
HAHAHAHAHA !! At least send me a email GIGABYTE ??

A year is usually how long the warranty is directly from the manufacturer. Maybe you should have tried to RMA from the retailer than you bought it from, the warranty they offer is usually for 2 years.

A year a year a year.... how about 3 for giga mobos? At least in the US...

Not sure what country the op is from but here in the states, after 30-90 days you send the product back to mfg, not the retailer.

If i was the OP, id email gigabyte and ask them wtf is going on. Sure beats bitching about it to a forum.

3.6ghz stock speed. BSOD every time I turn on Intel Turbo Boost to get 9700k refereed boost clock to 4.6 ghz.
You shouldn't need to turn anything on to get the cpu to run at stock speeds. 4.6ghz is all core boost, 4.9ghz for two. You arent making much sense.

I don't understand this thread at all.

OP says they've had the board for a year.

Gigabyte says warranty is a year.

OP is pissed off that board is out of warranty.

????????????????

OK, that sucks, but why do you feel the need to make a random forum post to rant and blame Gigabyte?

Check the screenshot with warranty check - it shows warranty coverage as dd/mm/yyyy and its listed as 01/01/0001 so I guess the motherboard was manufactured in the year 1 A.D...

The number you entered in the checkbox is missing SN at the beginning, check the example above. It's suppose to be SN1902... not 1902.

I used to turn on Turbo boost to get 4.6 ghz all cores (which is 9700k should do), I dont overclock at all. Last week I got BSOD randomly until I figured out that I need to turn off Turbo boost to stay away of BSOD

I dont like overclock but I like 9700k thank you

it is the same, still out of warranty

Contact customer service center directly because that warranty period is clearly wrong. You should be covered by 3 year warranty and you got the serial number for the board listed in the receipt.
Hit em up on Facebook in direct message or something. Their system is giving incorrect information and you can't file RMA due to this. Just don't go around calling them crooks or something, be polite and cooperative and they'll sort it out.

That makes no sense. Again, those are STOCK speeds for your processor. It does it automatically.

Don't these boards have that all-core max turbo thing that might cause this ?

EDIT: Can you even buy direct of GIGA ?.

I dont know if you are using 9700k or not but there are BASE CLOCK and BOOST CLOCK of an i7. My system was fine until BSOD therefore I have to turn off Turbo Boost in BIOS and lose my BOOST CLOCK

It's correct I monitored Vcore jumped to 1.37v before freezing BSOD. That's totally insane Vcore for 4.6ghz all cores
