[Test Build] Fix for 576.02 Driver Install

Yeesh. Ahhh, well. Too much coding to poll the system and use a specific architecture, making it rather bloated. I can live with it being slower.

Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah that's my thinking too, shipping two binaries, extracting the right one etc, just to save a few seconds. Of course I will add that if there's significant complaints about the lower speed

Or, do 2 versions, similar to ThrottleStop, only in this case, one supporting only Win10/11 x64, and the current fully developed app supporting everything back to Win7....

I know, you probably don't care for that approach either. It was just a thought I had.

TBH, I'm still trying to figure out why it was running into collisions like that when it never has in the past. Until I saw the other reports I really thought something in my freshly cleanly-installed system was badly b0rked lol.

I switched to a newer version of 7zip, which probably increased its memory usage or usage patterns

我切换到了较新版本的 7zip,这可能增加了它的内存使用或使用模式
Could you please tell me why the size of the nv_disp.cat file compiled is significantly smaller than the nv_disp.cat file from the official NVIDIA driver? Is it because some DLLs or INF files were not included?

The CAT file stores the digital signatures of the files in the driver package. I think my method for signing is different than how NV signs them

We can still use official app and manually download driver and than do custom installation? Tried it yesterday with that hotfix and it went OK.

Yes, this has nothing to do with the .cat file though. The cat file is rebuilt when you select "rebuild digital signature" in advanced tweaks

These changes are now live in v1.19.0

Cool on the release, thank you as always!

If you have a hankering, mebbe revert to the older (7zip) build and 20 threads setting and let us test to see if it works fine with the current build to allow for 576.xx compatibility?

:p (I know, more work for you lol - again, just a thought, not gonna be mad if you say no).

Won't work. The new 7zip is needed, because our servers pre-compress the individual components, so that you download only a single file instead of a gazillion, which is much faster. But the server has a up-to-date version of 7zip installed, which uses some new compression method, which the old one bundled with the exe doesn't support.

Is the speed difference really such a big deal?

To be fair, it's most definitely an optical thing, nothing more. I'm just spoiled with how fast it used to run versus now, more than anything lol.

Hi friends i am new here! I have a question I have been using NVClean for about 3 years I have had no problems the thing is that I wanted to update my NVC to version 1.19 and for curious I put it in TOTAL VIRUS
Is it a false positive ? the same my window defender and kaspersky did not detect anything when I downloaded it obviously all from the official site to clarify

SecureAge. An antivirus nobody has ever heard of

71 others are clean: https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/bed59284e22fd62e3f99805e15852a144431e5d40e2669f1f1ceb28fff4bf66f

Check if the exe is digitally signed by TPU, which guarantees it hasn't been tampered with. Unless of course you don't trust me

As noted earlier by W1zzard, you can verify the file's digital signature, but a lot of us are using it with now issues, and I can personally vouch that 1.19 has had no ill effects on my system that have triggered either Windows Defender or MalwareBytes 5.x.

Is it a false positive ?
Yup. As others mentioned, check the digital signature on the file, if it's ok, you'll be fine. Have you ever heard of anyone using Ikarus or SecureAge? It seems these generally flag every new file and some human manually unflags them after it has been seen a certain number of times.

No idea what "Google" is, afaik they don't have an antivirus product

Thank you very much for clarifying it! if as I said I use years then I found it a little weird NVC! even so you are very right the same happened to me with another app that ikarus marked as “virus” I hope they improve that in total virus, thank you very much for clarifying that. :)

With the latest 576.28 WHQL installed with NVCleanstall v1.19.0 (with the option to disable HDCP selected) and the previous hotfix driver completely removed with DDU, HDCP is still active (after reboot). So it's possible that they changed something, or I did something wrong.

EDIT: Sorry for the quote, it wasn't necessary or good idea at all.
