This is why I prefer nVidia cards; CCC and drivers are always a crap shoot. One version will be fine, the next will cause all kinds of problems, the one after that will fix those problems but introduce a new set, etc., etc. Since I started using nVidia cards exclusively I haven't had a single software or driver issue on the video side. Maybe because I use Intel CPUs/chipsets and they play nicer with nVidia drivers. Hopefully the new AMD cards and firmware will be a step up for them. I'd love to see them exceed nVidia's best offerings and become a competitive force in high-end gaming again.

nVidia or AMD has their own driver problem so this is only a personal opinion. I don't think one is better than the other one.. I could as well say that I have no issue with AMD, and my G74sX has a lot of driver problem
I know it's different for everyone, and my experience is limited to the few dozen machines I've owned, maintained, or refurbished (some of which had integrated graphics). Back in the day I bought a lot of ATI/AMD cards (to save money), and often had random crashes and freeze-ups with this card or that driver, usually fixed by driver updates (at least until the next version of CCC or drivers was installed). So I went with nVidia and never looked back, and still haven't had any issues. I guess I should consider myself lucky. Maybe AMD is getting better now. I'd definitely buy one of their cards if reviewers can confirm a decent performance boost for the same money, as long as it has a good quiet cooler and reasonable temps. I can live with the high power draw, but I don't need a space heater in my office (I live in Florida).
