The cards use 1.05v in idle, and most cards vary between 1.1v-1.15v load depending on brand.

How do you know what the voltage is in 3D?

Multi-meter, check it while running a 3D intense benchmark.

If you leave those blocks like that, then they will stick to what the default is, 1.1-1.15v. I type in "1.25" in that space...and it gets me 1.2v.

Just make one. Takes 2 seconds. Easy to flash. I did it a couple times now.

I am going to lower my 2D clocks again and I guess use the MSI bios since it has higher voltage, or so he says.

Sorry I meant to say "how do I use those?"

You need to make a bootable floppy and boot off of it with atiflash and flash the cards bios. There is a how-to on here somewhere that walks you through it. Its easy.

You make/get a bios file (.bin), and flash it using either Atiflash, or ATIWinflash.

Edit: Use ATIWinflash, you can use it in windows. I use it through cmd, works great:)

Idle temps after fitting an S1 with a 120mm + 80mm fan on top. 24.1C ambient. With the MSI bios with 160mhz/500mhz itll be even lower.

Well I flashed mine to 160/500 2D and 650/1000 3D at 1.25V.

In CCC I clocked it to 700/1075 and I only get to 43° load using the ATT 3d renderer.

Depends on the software. Which do you want? Also, both fans are still only @7v. So if i wanted to go deaf I could get it lower still.

Hmmm, ATItool artifact scan should heat it up nicely:)

Edit:mad:BoOsTed - Remember, flashing it to 1.25v will result in 1.2v....the bios will not allow anymore than 1.2v

I know. I just checked my 3D temps at 700/1075 and it didn't break 43.5° out of all 4 temps gpu-z gave me. I'd say it is good to stay. :)

ATi tool tends to crash with these cards. The furmark bench is a great way to heat things up. :D

I installed ATItool, and when it asks to install unknown driver, I hit decline. That way it doesn't mess with the card, so I can use the artifact scanner:)

Nice. Should have gotten the accelero and a 120mm. ;)

Let me know your idle and 3d temps. I had mine at 700/1075 today and checked for artifacts for 30 min. Zippo and max temp was 44°. :)

This is at 1.2V btw.

No it isnt running 1.2v. Youll have to mod it to that. The msi bios is good because it has powerplay properly enabled. Make sure you get the newer one.
