Hi everyone, I don't think there's a club for Ampere based cards yet, so let's get the ball rolling!

I'll go first, here's my RTX 3090 FE, ordered from Best buy:

Hope more of you can post pics of your Ampere based cards!

As more cards begin becoming available I hope this club will grow in size soon! Happy hunting!

Thank you, I double checked before opening this thread to make sure there wasn't one for Ampere owners yet, and was honestly surprised not to see a thread for this topic.

I'm sure I've seen a few people in the forum post about their 30xx cards, I hope they come join the club and post pics of their cards soon!

You didn't have to twist the knife...

I just asked where he ordered from and wished him luck getting them soon, how's that twisting the knife?

Back to topic, now that the 3070 has launched, I expect more people will be joining the club soon, that card has a great price/performance ratio.

I'm also excited to see what AMD is bringing to the table, I already am fully committed to an AMD build, I have my Asus TUF X570 plus ready and waiting for Zen 3 to launch.

It's been a while since I've been excited about the PC upgrade scene, as I didn't see any reason to upgrade my 2080Ti or the 8700K currently driving my build, but both AMD and Nvidia have delivered in terms of performance, I'm looking forward to my first AMD CPU ever, and can't wait to pair it to my 3090!

Now we just need availability to be less of an issue, 2020 has been atrocious when it comes to bots seizing all the goods and preventing enthusiasts from being able to have access to these new cards, hope that trend dies as more and more retailers start enforcing captcha for any purchase as well as limits on how many cards can be ordered per account.

Yeah, sure. Looking at Proshops 3070 statistics. They ordered 4620 AIB cards. Of those a whopping 206 have been received and another 578 are allegedly on the way. Seems like there are loads of future 3070 owners out there ;)

Better than zero cards, right?

That card will be in high demand, and supply won’t be able to meet that demand for many months unfortunately. I created this thread for owners of 30xx cards to share their their pics and experiences related to Ampere cards, I realize it’ll be a while before that happens, but please let’s not let it devolve into a bashing contest regarding availability, there already are plenty of other threads on this forum dedicated to that.

Even if it takes some time for more people to join in, I wanted Ampere owners to have a common place to talk about their cards.:lovetpu:

I'm really tempted to join this club. I usually buy into the x60 range, but 3070 looks like a great buy to get a feel of RTRT. I have a 4k monitor, so I'd have to lower some settings here and there (no worries, I know how to tweak them). But I'm in no rush to buy, if I don't find a great Christmas offer, I'll let these (and AMD's counterparts) settle for a few more months.

Nice, hope you decide to join the club, with performance that’s close to the 2080Ti, I can tell you from personal experience that should be able to run most current games at 4K and maxed out settings, especially if DLSS can be turned on.

Also, with AMD about to release more information regarding Navi in only a few more hours, I feel like many people who are on the fence regarding what card to get will finally be able to make a decision. No matter which camp you pick, these are exciting times to be a PC gamer!

We'll see. If I give this more time, the 3060Ti will also enter the picture. And the gap between 3070 and 3080 is pretty big ;)

Maybe it's a matter of time till the 3070 TI shows up. I'd go with the 3070 Ti just to have the NV card in my other system.

I'd refrain from 8GB with a 4K panel, tbh. Its the exact edge case you shouldn't be on with this sort of capacity and res. But I'm sure you've considered the ifs.

1440p sweetspot really. Other than that... I find myself in the exact same boat. Waiting it out for AIB reviews, good availability and early adopter driver nonsense to pass, plus Navi's similar path to shelves.

Meh, what's the worst that can happen? Turn down the texture quality a notch 2-3 years from now?
And I don't really game anymore. But I do have a backlog of a few outstanding titles I want to try. So, not playing the latest and greatest, I think I'll be fine ;)
I went 4k because it's great for picture retouching and IDE real-estate. If gaming can't keep up with that, I'll live with it.

Oh yeah that's definitely a big factor. It is for me too. I find myself quickly burned out from new titles and releases. Shallow stuff most of it, and the non-shallow stuff generally isn't cutting edge in graphics. Most of what I play is from the years past...

But my experience is also that gaming hypes go with ups and downs. Some new title might just be the aha erlebnis you've wanted for ages... and with RT development probably intertwined, I think a margin is wise.

Didn't pay MSRP but also didn't pay out to a scalper. Local warehouse I contacted after launch finally got around to me with a card offer and I took it.

It's not the best but it's a functional RTX 3080. Slaps the old 2080 SUPER around for sure.

Congratulations! And welcome to the club! Yes, that's a huge update over a 2080 super.
