So by now some of you may have grown accustomed to my modus operandi in creating these polls but in this particular one I'm changing things up a bit and combining mulitplayer battle arena with multi player RPGS. The reason being is simply two fold, many MMORPGs have fallen on hard times in terms of players from their glory days while MOBAs genre is basically a handful of games controlling the entire community in terms of sheer popularity. In fact many top MOBA lists I was looking at had MOBA games that were closed even if the list was dated from early 2019.

You can vote for as many games on the list as you like and post any games you feel should be on the list.

I did not include single player RPGs with multiplayer aspects like Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age Inquisition since they are primarily single player.
The poll is for fun and limited to ten options so games do get left off.
Games are from mostly from 2008 to 2018 that have had major updates or expansions in that time period.
I limit it to one game per series as to get as many games mentioned as possible.
I use a variety of lists from metacritic, pcgamer, pcgamesn, rockpapershotgun, gamespot among others to try to come up with a fair list

FYI, the original DOTA was a mod and outside the time period in use (came out in 2003). Both Paragon and Strife have shut down their servers.

You can still vote for
best single player RPG
best single player FPS
best single player action game

Well, that was easy for me to answer as I've only played 2. WoW and GW2. Didn't really care for WoW and let it go at around level 30 something but I thoroughly enjoyed GW2. I put over 300 hours into it until I just didn't want to play it anymore. Haven't been back in 6 years.

I would say for GW2 is my second favorite MMORPG of all time.

FFXIV will always remain one of my favorite MMO's, but I just couldn't get back into it for the latest expansion after I stopped playing it a few years back. Lately I hop between Elder Scrolls Online, Warframe, and (rarely) Black Desert, but most of my MMO time is spent in ESO when I'm able. Been meaning to get back into Elite: Dangerous after building my pc, but it's understandably not as popular a game.

That being said, I've played all the MMO's on this list and they're all good in their own way.

Same. I still dive into GW2 occasionally, but its losing its charm by now. But yeah, very refreshing game at the time and well executed, with some bumps in the road..

But I voted for WoW and Dota 2. Funny how both originated @ Blizzard, but yeah, they really dominated gaming for over a decade - the latter being just a simple custom map in WC3. Crazy stuff

I'm still playing Saga of Ryzom ... for 15 years now and still have not maxed out my character. Have tried others but abandoned quickly. Appeal lies more with the community but the game is unique in was that after all this time I'm still learning. Much more brain based than quick twitch reflex based ,,, and no l33t crowd.

I'm guessing RuneScape is too old. I've been playing it since 2008, but it's been around since 2001. I like how all of its quests are unique and interesting rather than the endless fetch quests that all other MMORPGs seen to have.

Unfortunately the game has been getting microtransactions and other crap since 2012. And despite that, membership prices have almost doubled since I started.

Old School RuneScape is much better in that regard. I don't play it since I have almost 11 years of progress on the normal game.

If there is GW 2 and even the old chap WoW, where in gods name is GW 1?

For me the original Guild Wars was and still ist the best mmorpg. I love the setting, the art style, the gameplay, the different stories from the addons. I remember spending ages grinding for the GW 2 bonus tiers to unlock that were supposed to carry over, only to be really disappointed by it.
Man I miss my Zippy and Prof. Yakkington. I even fire it up once in a while to check on my chars and open the birthday presents. But sadly the servers are empty.

Can't vote this time, the ones I played from that list I did not like and the rest is not my cup of tea.

I've played Vindictus for nearly 7 years tho,BNS for 1 and half and Kritika Online for about 1 before the NA/EU publisher ruined it.
