Hey all figured I would start a thread asking people what they think is the best new game game out there is. I would have to say F.E.A.R. has my vote. It is a great game with awesome graphics and gameplay (and thats just based on the demo). Can't wait till Oct. 19th to get it. Does anyone have any other new games out there that they think are worthy of being the best?

Has anyone seen or play the Quake 4 demo?
I am not a big fan of quake, but maybe it could be good.

I am really hoping to see another Legacy of Kain game out there, but I think the series is done.

F.E.A.R. looks sweet but ain't really my type of game so doubt it'll be added to my collection.
Just got Jetfighter 2015 which is looking like a load of fun.
My next purchase? Pro Evolution Soccer 5. Big fan of the series now it's on PC. Got 3 and 4. Wanna see if my little Microsoft Sidewinder Gamepad can take another installment. It's doing well so far! Tough little cookie. IMHO it's the best gamepad on any format. Just so damn simple.

I got Brothers in arms "Earned in Blood" when it came out on oct 5, after the first one brothers in arms "Road to hill 30" I had to get it. if you like ww2 games this one's awsome in my opinion. Gearbox software has done thier homework on this one, using actual characters and events from the 502 airborne infantry they have made the scenes just like they were in the 40's. They have fixed alot of things people wanted to see in the first one as well including the latest physics engine to date, according to gearbox software anyways.

Black and white 2 is.... pretty cool but its kind of clunky gameplay-wise.

I had a question about an older game.
I used to play counter-strike before steam.
Now that steam is out I know I need to download that, but can you get CS still for free or do you have to pay for it?

You can still play Counter Strike 1.5 for free, but not through steam. You also need to install Half Life off the cd then download cs 1.5

The Steam version of Counter-Strike is ten times better than the previous crap. I've never been a fan of CS since it always had REALLY inaccurate aiming, but now that Steam CS is out I like it! Now you can aim for someone square in the face and not hit the wall a meter next to him. I've also heard that the die-hard CS fans are now unhappy because they say the aiming's off. Go figure... Not much skill involved after all.. ;)

well a real bullet actually dips down past the centerline of the barrel quite a bit before it comes back up to center then up over the center line and then levels off fairly straight but takes quite a distance for it all to take place. But I know what you guys mean about the aiming so many game designers are trying to get this kind of physics into things like different bullets loaded with different powder grains and ratios, different tips with different weights, and then are trying to simulate wind ect.. so Lol I feel what you are saying you are aiming with maby 10 yards between them and miss? yeah right. I didnt care for the aiming in both of those versions but didnt mind the overall game anyway. Just my two cents. MD.

Get counter strike source, its much better than 1.6 (steam version)/1.5 and the graphics are at least 20 times better. You have a nice computer for it too :)

You can buy CS:S seperate from HL2 now, its $20. Just download steam and check out the game store.

http://www.steampowered.com/

Its in the single player section of the store.

I got a free 2 disc copy of CS "Condition Zero" with a Video Card.
How is it?
What kind of device do I need to play best?
Also bought the Doom3......what's best device?
(contoller / mouse / joystick)

Still using a CRT monitor, how much will that effect playability?

Just use a mouse/keyboard. CRT's are better than most LCD's up into the 250$+ range.

Hmm, since this thread is about best game, i´d say that Killzone looks like nothing i´ve seen before. Too bad i cant see the game with my own eyes, cuz ps3 aint out there yet, but the videos are awesome. My mouth was drewling after the trailer was over.

I enjoy freespace 2. It's a good break from the FPS and RTS genres which seem to be dominating right now.

If you like FS2 you'll like X2 the Threat and a new one coming out X3 ..

X2 was just so tiresome to play. To get your own solar plant or anything it take almost 24 hours of play to get it up and running, and then you're still losing money. And the systems look just a tad too similar. ;)

I played X2 for about an hour and got sooo bored with it.
Dont get me wrong it had great graphics and decent play, but it just wasnt fun.
I would prefer FarCry, CounterStrike, and FEAR lately.

I just played B&W2. It has pretty graphics but if you decide to play good it's a bit boring. I mean, build a massive city and then win by impressing the other cities to death. ;) The evil way of invading the city to take it over is alot more fun although you still don't have that much control over your units. The interface is really laggy as your hand isn't that responsive. But other than that it's not a bad game. ;)
