Looking to buy a solid gpu for 1080p. Looking to play Assassins Creed Odyssey at near max settings @60fps and other games (more in the classics) Rome 2 and Dragon Age. Would just like some suggestions on the best in the price range under $500 AUD
Cheers! I used to have a 1070 ti about a year ago but had to sell it due to reasons.

GTX 1070 G1 OC $335 (Pre-owned)
GTX 1070 ti $460 (Pre-owned)
GTX 1660ti $410

Assassin's Creed Odyssey is part of TPU tested games, from latest review with all your listed GPUs present:

Technically, the pre-owned GTX 1070 is best price/perf out of these but the performance gap does get noticeable. GTX 1660Ti is probably your best bet but RTX 2060 is not far behind.
Turing has general advantages over Pascal, I would try to get a newer card here.

Id say RTX 2060 is your best bet, not too far from 1660 Ti
and the performance is identical to 1070 Ti
but if you want real upgrade, 2070 is the answer

Benchmark Scores 3050 scores good 15-20% lower than average, despite ASUS's claims that it has uber cooling.
Navi series will be announced at E3 in 2 weeks time, if its good, it can force NV to reduce prices on 2070 and below.

All navi has on turing is pcie 4.0 for showing ppl misleading benchmarks.Red sheeple will buy it for pcie 4 anyway, all mrs.Su has to tell them is that's "futureproof" and will age better.

1080p60 is easy on 1070,just be careful of ex mining cards.

How much is Vega 56?

Well, Zen2 will sport PCIe 4.0, so you'll be able to use that bandwidth. But until now, it took years before the added PCIe bandwidth made a difference in gaming, so I'm not really sure what do you mean by "misleading benchmarks". Unless you're thinking synthetics that will put out numbers that will be meaningless in gaming.

...until now???

Why would more bandwidth help when the midrange cards dont have a bandwidth issue? I mean a 2080 loses 1-2% when cutting back pcie 3.0 x16 to x8... why would doubling the bandwidth help?

If you have a garden hose that has 1 gpm flow and added a bigger hose...it will still flow at 1 gpm as the hose wasn't holding flow back.

I think that OP have made a decision about AMD/Nvidia so why not keep the discussion on the subject on which GPU of the four listed to get?

Best price performance from your four GPU's is the 1070 mate.

If I had some extra coin I would be looking at the 2060..

Between that and OP's need to run at or near maxxed out settings, it's pretty clear only the 2060 cuts it.
Unless there's some setting (there usually is) that you can turn down with minimal visual impact while gaining something like 20% more FPS. Even then, I suspect the 2060 will still be the only card to yield the necessary min FPS.

This.

The other options are either old or offer far too little for what they do at this point in time. RTX 2060 or bust - and note that it only offers 59.3 FPS averages. Ubisofts' open world games are just like that, there is lots of dynamic LoD and drawing going on and its optimized around 60 FPS; most other games will be doing fár better than that. As always, you should base a GPU purchase off a wide suite of games/benches.

Bull

Turn down volumetric clouds to high and 1070 will easily do.
Maxing out is fool's game.

Yes and next year you'll be wondering why you went for the 1070 after all... And there is a bunch of other titles that also hover around the 60 FPS marker with a 2060 already @ 1080p.

LOL what happened to you all of a sudden, lost your faith in graphics/gaming advances? Of course you can cut down on settings to keep it manageable, that's nothing new is it... but its not what OP is asking for.

And paying $335 for a 2 year old used (and possibly mined with! *and Gigabyte*) 1070 that's a good 30% slower than the $475 2060... that's just ridiculous. The perf/$ is almost the same. Also for OP a 1070 would be a step back, paying twice over on the same GPU to get less performance in the end. If that 1070 was 200 bucks, sure, jump on it. But as it is presented... hell no.
