This game lacks several optimisations, i came to that conclusion after several days playing on multiple environnements : it's playable 80% of the time on my rig, but there's 20% of the situations where the frame rate drops below the acceptable level, and that's with an X800XT + A64 3500 clocked @2550Mhz !

I ran the game on 1024*768 with 16 AF and everything on high on my pc with the newest Omega drivers and it went smooth.
Maybe you should try running the game with the Omega drivers.

Heard the game runs better on nVidia hardware, maybe because it was programmed for the Xbox GPU.
Anyway, I was able to finish it at 1024x768 and full details, using cats 5.2, but when using the night vision thing, the framerate would drop to the 20s :( Else, everything was fine. :)

In some games they make a very small differnce, why don't you give'em a try? remember to use driver cleaner before installing any new drivers.

He is trying to say that your Intel and X600 is the prob. Anyway, its true that Riddick runs faster on Nvidia cards. If you've been checking out those reviews, seems like even the X850XTPE is only 2/3 as fast as the 6800Ultra. Its a game that Nvidia is stronger in.

so this game have problems with the ati (because i gave it a try with a x600 & x700)

by the way i will try omega drivers , but i did read that for somebody the omega drivers run faster , for others run like the official drivers!

Pls do not mistaken me as a die hard Nvidia fan. I still prefer ATI, but since the game is very shadow intensive, so Nvidia with their Ultra Shadow tech handles this game much better, just like in Doom 3. :D

I have a 7800GTX overclocked, x2 dual core at 2.75GHz, 1GB of xp4000 redline ram, and i get under 30fps even at 1280x1024 with the settings turned down. Any other game i max anistrophic filtering, AA, and everything else at 1600x1200. I think there is a major problem with this game. My cousin has an xp2600+ and my old x800xtpe and it runs fine on there (not sure on fps or resolution, but its smooth).

I tried different drivers, and even installed windows xp just to see if that ran it any different (I run Server 2003 on my rig), but nothing has helped. I have figured out things to make it a lot worse and totally unplayable (older drivers) but not to make it better!

make sure you set it to shader model 2.0, shader model 2.0++ is bugged in this game and is enabled by default if you have a geforce 6-7 GPU

I set it to shader model 2.0 a couple nights ago and it more than tripled my framerate - now im at about 90-100+

Riddick definately runs faster on Nvidia than on ATI. ATI is soon to release their new drivers soon though, which should make OpenGl games fun about 30% better. If I'm not mistaken, Riddick is OpenGl, so once the drivers come out, performance should improve.
